IT Support Specialist 3.8 3.8 out of 5 stars CareFirstNY is a non-profit organization that provides hospice services, grief support and community counseling to residents of Chemung, Schuyler, and Steuben counties in New York State. We're seeking a professional and personable temporary IT Support Specialist to join our team!

The Information Technology Specialist is responsible for providing frontline technical support and maintaining the Organization's Information Technology (IT) systems, equipment, and software. The role ensures compliance with all Organization and IT policies and procedures while delivering responsive helpdesk support to staff. The Specialist serves as key point of contact for end users, communicating technical solutions clearly and professionally, while assisting with documentation, training materials, and ongoing system support which promotes efficient and secure technology operations organization-wide.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide IT support during organization system change, anticipated April 2026 - January/February 2027 by: Maintaining inventory accountability and control of all IT equipment and software licensing.
Helpdesk support including:
monitoring helpdesk system to support staff requests, communicate and guide technical processes and resolutions to users, document all helpdesk interaction and processes provided to users Hardware and software support including: installing and configuring workstations, inspecting equipment and filling appropriate forms to deliver to end users, repair equipment with vendors by warranty and service agreement, minor PC and printer hardware repair and parts replacement, office and equipment moves, troubleshooting software issues Help install local area network cabling and switches Assist in creating technical documents, procedures, and training materials Data entry as needed Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED (required) or Associate's Degree in related field (preferred) with minimum 2 years' experience and strong working knowledge of: PC hardware with ability to perform diagnostic testing, troubleshooting, break/fix, OS installation and software installation and upgrades Microsoft Windows operating and desktop operating systems: Windows 10/11 and Windows Server Microsoft Office applications Ability to install and troubleshoot software Desktop networking (wired and wireless) with ability to troubleshoot network CareFirstNY is an Equal Opportunity Employer.

$19.00 - $23.00 per hour
