IT Support Specialist II (On-Site) Position Summary RTD Embedded Technologies is seeking a full-time, on-site IT Support Specialist II to provide day-to-day support for employees, workstations, printers, peripherals, and business technology systems. This role serves as RTD's primary on-site IT resource and reports directly to the Director of Operations. The successful candidate will work closely with employees across the organization and collaborate daily with RTD's outside managed services provider to maintain a secure, reliable, and productive technology environment. This position is ideal for an experienced IT support professional who enjoys hands-on problem solving, supporting end users, maintaining documentation, and serving as the primary liaison between RTD staff and the managed services provider for day-to-day technology needs. Key Responsibilities Provide daily support for desktops, laptops, monitors, docking stations, printers, scanners, mobile devices, and other business technology. Troubleshoot hardware, software, operating system, connectivity, login, and application issues. Support Microsoft 365 applications, including Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint, and Microsoft Office. Install, configure, deploy, and replace hardware and software. Assist with employee onboarding and offboarding activities. Support network printers, label printers, conference room technology, and related business systems. Maintain technology inventory, asset records, and technical documentation. Assist with workstation deployments, hardware refreshes, and equipment moves. Assist with endpoint security, patch management, antivirus maintenance, and vulnerability remediation activities. Support engineering, laboratory, testing, and manufacturing technology systems. Coordinate escalated support requests, cybersecurity initiatives, infrastructure projects, and system changes with the managed services provider. Document support requests, resolutions, procedures, and recurring issues. Required Qualifications United States citizenship is required due to customer, contractual, regulatory, and access requirements associated with certain technologies, projects, facilities, and information that may be encountered in this role. Ability to reliably commute to RTD's State College, Pennsylvania facility each business day. Ability to pass required background checks and pre-employment drug screening. 3+ years of hands-on experience in desktop support, IT support, help desk, field support, or a similar technical support role. Experience supporting Windows desktops and laptops in a business environment. Experience troubleshooting computer hardware, software, printers, and common end-user technology issues. Familiarity with Microsoft 365 applications and services. Strong customer service, communication, organizational, and documentation skills. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities. Preferred Qualifications Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. Experience working in manufacturing, engineering, laboratory, or other highly technical environments. Experience with Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID, Group Policy, Microsoft Intune, or similar endpoint management platforms. Experience with endpoint security, patch management, and vulnerability remediation. Familiarity with networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and wireless networking. Work Environment This is a full-time (FTE), on-site position located in State College, Pennsylvania. The position supports employees across office, engineering, laboratory, manufacturing, and testing environments and requires hands-on technology support, equipment deployment, and occasional lifting of computer equipment. Occasional regional travel is expected to support remote offices, home offices, and other business needs. Travel is generally within approximately 100 miles of RTD's State College facility. Compensation and Benefits Salary Range:
$55,000 - $65,000 annually, based on experience, qualifications, and overall fit.
