This is a hands-on technical position for someone who is comfortable troubleshooting beyond basic help desk issues and taking ownership of more complex technical problems. As an ABSO Tech IT Support Technician, you will support multiple client environments, resolve escalated service requests, assist with infrastructure and cloud systems, participate in technology projects, and help ensure our clients' systems remain secure, reliable, and productive. The ideal candidate is a strong troubleshooter who understands that successful IT support is not just about fixing technology — it is about communicating with customers, documenting work, identifying root causes, and following issues through to completion. Because ABSO Technologies operates as a Managed Service Provider (MSP), you will work with a variety of businesses, local governments, nonprofit organizations, schools, and other organizations with different technology environments and business needs. This position is ideal for an IT professional who enjoys variety, problem solving, customer interaction, and continuing to develop their technical skills. Responsibilities Provide advanced technical support for client hardware, software, cloud services, networks, servers, security systems, and business applications. Take ownership of escalated technical issues and work them through diagnosis, resolution, documentation, and customer communication. Troubleshoot desktops, laptops, printers, mobile devices, docking stations, peripherals, and other endpoint equipment. Diagnose and resolve Windows 10 and Windows 11 operating system issues, application problems, performance issues, user-profile problems, and hardware failures. Support and administer Microsoft 365 environments including Outlook, Exchange Online, Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint, user accounts, licensing, permissions, and related services. Support Microsoft Entra ID / Azure AD environments including user administration, authentication, device access, and identity-related troubleshooting. Support Active Directory environments including users, computers, security groups, permissions, Group Policy, and domain-related troubleshooting. Troubleshoot network connectivity issues involving LAN/WAN environments, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, routing, switching, Wi-Fi, firewalls, VPNs, and internet connectivity. Troubleshoot and support network equipment including switches, wireless access points, routers, firewalls, and related infrastructure. Support Windows Server environments and troubleshoot common server, authentication, file-sharing, permissions, networking, and application issues. Assist with firewall, VPN, endpoint security, email security, and cybersecurity systems. Support cybersecurity tools and follow established security procedures for malware, suspicious activity, compromised accounts, and other security-related incidents. Support backup and disaster-recovery systems and assist with identifying and resolving failed backups, connectivity problems, alerts, and other backup-related issues. Assist with VoIP phone systems, connectivity, user configuration, call-routing issues, and basic telecommunications troubleshooting. Configure and deploy new computers, laptops, mobile devices, applications, and other technology equipment. Perform new-user onboarding and employee offboarding, including account creation, permissions, licensing, equipment configuration, and security requirements. Use remote monitoring and management tools to troubleshoot, maintain, patch, monitor, and support client systems. Manage service tickets throughout their lifecycle, maintaining accurate documentation of troubleshooting performed, customer communication, time worked, and final resolution. Communicate professionally with customers and explain technical issues in language that non-technical users can understand. Identify root causes rather than repeatedly applying temporary fixes to recurring technical problems. Recognize when an issue requires escalation and provide senior technicians with complete documentation of troubleshooting already performed. Assist other technicians with troubleshooting and provide technical guidance when appropriate. Participate in technology projects including workstation deployments, network upgrades, Microsoft 365 projects, security deployments, server work, office moves, infrastructure upgrades, and new-client onboarding. Perform onsite technical support and installations at client locations when required. Maintain accurate client documentation including system configurations, network information, procedures, credentials documentation processes, equipment information, and troubleshooting notes. Follow ABSO Technologies' security procedures, technical standards, documentation requirements, and customer-service expectations. Experience and QualificationsRequired Approximately 2-5+ years of professional IT support experience , preferably in a Managed Service Provider (MSP), IT consulting, or multi-client support environment. Strong Windows desktop troubleshooting skills. Strong understanding of Microsoft 365 administration and troubleshooting. Experience supporting Microsoft Entra ID / Azure AD and/or Active Directory environments. Working knowledge of Windows Server environments. Strong understanding of fundamental networking concepts including:

Experience using help desk or ticketing systems and documenting technical work accurately. Ability to independently troubleshoot technical problems using a logical and systematic approach. Ability to work on multiple technical issues and client environments while properly managing priorities. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Strong customer-service skills and the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical users. Ability to recognize when additional research or escalation is appropriate rather than continuing an ineffective troubleshooting path. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with other technicians. Preferred Experience Experience with any of the following is highly desirable: Managed Service Provider (MSP) environments NinjaOne or other Remote Monitoring and Management (RMM) platforms Microsoft 365 Administration Microsoft Entra ID / Azure AD Active Directory and Group Policy Microsoft Defender ThreatLocker Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR/XDR) platforms Datto backup and disaster recovery solutions Barracuda products Ubiquiti / UniFi networking Firewalls and VPN technologies SharePoint and OneDrive VoIP systems Windows Server Apple macOS and iOS/iPadOS support Google Workspace Cybersecurity tools and security best practices Linux experience is a plus but is not required. What We Are Looking For Technical knowledge is important, but ABSO Technologies is also looking for someone who demonstrates: Ownership — You take responsibility for a ticket and follow it through to resolution. Troubleshooting ability — You investigate the actual cause of a problem rather than simply trying random fixes. Customer service — You treat every user professionally and understand that many customers may not be technically experienced. Communication — You keep customers and teammates informed rather than allowing issues to disappear into the ticket queue. Documentation — You document what happened, what you tried, what fixed the problem, and anything the next technician should know. Judgment — You understand what you can resolve independently and when an issue should be escalated. Adaptability — You are comfortable moving between different customers, technologies, systems, and priorities throughout the day. Continuous learning — You are interested in learning new technologies and expanding your technical skills. The ABSO Tech Standard An ABSO Tech IT Support Technician is expected to go beyond basic desktop support. You should be able to receive an escalated problem, gather the necessary information, develop a troubleshooting plan, investigate the issue systematically, communicate with the customer, and either resolve the problem or escalate it with complete technical documentation. We are not looking for someone who simply closes tickets. We are looking for someone who can solve problems, take ownership, communicate professionally, and become a trusted technical resource for our clients and our team. Join ABSO Technologies If you are passionate about technology, enjoy solving challenging problems, and want to work in an environment where you will be exposed to a wide variety of technologies and client environments, we would like to hear from you. Join ABSO Technologies as an ABSO Tech IT Support Technician and become part of a team focused on delivering responsive, professional, and dependable technology support to the organizations we serve.
