Job Description
Job Summary POS-MAX provides point-of-sale systems, payment processing, delivery integrations, networking, and technical support to retail businesses throughout Southern California. We are looking for a reliable, hands-on POS Installation & IT Support Technician who can prepare POS systems in our Rancho Cucamonga office, install systems at customer locations, and provide Level 1 technical support to existing customers. Previous POS experience is not required. We will train the right person. We are looking for someone who understands computers, enjoys troubleshooting, communicates professionally, and can work independently. Responsibilities POS System Preparation Assemble and configure Windows-based POS computers Install and configure POS software Configure printers, barcode scanners, cash drawers and payment terminals Configure basic network/IP settings Test complete POS systems before deployment Label, document and prepare equipment for installation Maintain accurate equipment and customer records Field Installations Travel to customer locations throughout Southern California Install new POS systems and peripheral equipment Replace or upgrade existing systems Connect printers, scanners, payment terminals and networking equipment Perform basic network troubleshooting Test credit/debit transactions and POS functionality Test receipt printers, scanners and cash drawers Train store owners/employees on basic system operation Document completed installations and equipment Maintain a clean and professional installation Level 1 Technical Support Provide phone and remote technical support Troubleshoot basic Windows and POS issues Troubleshoot printers, scanners and cash drawers Troubleshoot payment-terminal communication Diagnose basic internet/network connectivity issues Restart applications, computers and services Use remote-support and monitoring tools Escalate advanced issues to Level 2 or engineering when necessary
