This role is ideal for a well-rounded IT professional with strong experience across servers, networking, firewalls, cybersecurity, cloud systems, backups, virtualization, and end-user support. We are looking for someone who can operate independently, troubleshoot efficiently, communicate professionally with clients, and take ownership of critical IT systems in a fast-paced managed services environment. The ideal candidate is a high-level IT generalist — someone comfortable wearing multiple hats and managing a wide range of technologies commonly found in small and mid-sized business environments. Responsibilities Manage and maintain Windows Server environments, Active Directory, Hyper-V/VMware virtualization, and Microsoft 365 environments Configure, troubleshoot, and support firewalls, switches, wireless networks, VPNs, and overall network infrastructure Administer backup and disaster recovery systems including cloud and local backup solutions Monitor and respond to system alerts, outages, security concerns, and infrastructure performance issues Provide advanced troubleshooting for servers, workstations, networking, printers, email systems, and business-critical applications Support cybersecurity initiatives including endpoint protection, patch management, MFA, email security, and system hardening Assist with infrastructure upgrades, server deployments, network redesigns, migrations, and IT projects Maintain documentation of client environments, credentials, configurations, and procedures Work directly with clients in a professional and customer-focused manner Collaborate with internal staff to ensure timely resolution of support requests and project completion Participate in after-hours or emergency support when critical business operations are impacted Qualifications 5+ years of hands-on experience in IT infrastructure, managed services, or systems administration Strong experience with: Windows Server Microsoft 365 Active Directory Hyper-V and/or VMware Firewalls and VPNs Network switching and wireless systems Backup and disaster recovery platforms Experience supporting small and mid-sized business IT environments Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills across multiple technologies Ability to prioritize tasks, work independently, and manage multiple client environments Excellent communication and customer service skills Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for onsite client visits Preferred Experience Experience with SonicWall, Ubiquiti, Dell servers, Veeam, SentinelOne, Wasabi, and cloud infrastructure Familiarity with cybersecurity best practices and compliance requirements Experience working in an MSP (Managed Service Provider) environment About MCC Monterey Computer Corporation provides managed IT services, cybersecurity, infrastructure support, and technology solutions for businesses and municipalities throughout the Central Coast.
