Job Summary
Amentum, a global leader in advanced engineering, technical, and professional services serving the US government, allies and critical infrastructure sectors, is seeking an Senior IT Support Technician to support a government contract based on the island of Diego Garcia.
PURPOSE / SCOPE
The Senior IT Support Technician is responsible for providing advanced Windows/server support and touch labor; supports remedy ticketing and troubleshooting; assists remote help desk in providing workstation/PC hardware installation, configuration and maintenance; supporting user applications and troubleshooting; and other duties as assigned all while ensuring successful performance and compliance with Performance Work Statement (PWS), Program, USG, and international requirements and guidelines. Ensures compliance with standard management practices including but not limited to monitoring, records keeping, report preparation, training, inspections, data reporting, etc. Will perform other duties as assigned.
The Senior IT Support Technician will be available for on-call support as needed 24 hours/day, 7 days/week in this role.
QUALIFICATIONS
Associate's degree in computer science or electrical engineering
Five (5) years experience in a Microsoft® operating environment with field experience in personal computer (PC) hardware installation, configuration and maintenance certifications: IAT-2: Security + or GSEC or SCNP or SSCP (Senior IT Support Technician must meet requirements outlined in the
DOD 8570.1M
directive matrix IAT-1)
Knowledge of Microsoft Window® Server, Microsoft® Exchange, Microsoft Window® XP Professional, Microsoft® Office Professional, IBM Tivoli, BMC Remedy, UNIX and Linux
Strong interpersonal skills
Three (3) years experience in a leadership role in an austere OCONUS environment with a multi-national workforce
Must be familiar with current global, US, Program and PWS requirements
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Ability to obtain and maintain a US passport and drivers license throughout employment in this role
Passport must be valid for a minimum of one (1) year or more at the time of hiring
Ability to successfully pass the medical contract requirements and maintain compliance throughout the duration of deployment
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret US Government Clearance.

Ability to obtain country-specific visas as required by the U.S. Department of State Foreign Clearance Guide
WORK ENVIRONMENT, PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Able to stand for long periods of time such as eight (8) to ten (10) hours, bend, kneel, and reach to store/retrieve supplies
Able to lift, carry, and push supplies and boxes up to 50 pounds
Living and working conditions at the assignment location could be remote and uncomfortable
May work in a typical office environment
This position is located on Diego Garcia, British Indian Ocean Territory (BIOT), a remote overseas location supporting U.S. Government operations. Employees may work in offices, industrial warehouses, ports, airfield, and outdoor environments and may be exposed to high temperatures, humidity, inclement weather, noise, dust, and uneven terrain. Work schedules may include evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended hours based on operational requirements.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Requirements may include prolonged sitting, standing, walking, climbing stairs, and working in both indoor and outdoor environments. Must be able to meet all medical, security, and deployment requirements associated with assignment to a remote overseas location.
