IT Specialist CEMS Engineering, Inc. United States, South Carolina, Summerville 108 Bentons Lodge Rd (Show on map) Jul 21, 2026 CEMS is seeking a versatile and motivated IT Specialist capable of supporting a wide range of technical operations across infrastructure, cybersecurity, application support, and end user assistance. This role combines responsibilities traditionally found in Senior IT roles, application support roles, and entry-level IT support roles. The ideal candidate thrives in diverse technical environments, demonstrates strong communication skills, and excels both independently and within collaborative teams. This position is in our Summerville, SC office which is 20 minutes from downtown Charleston. Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Technical Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or Cybersecurity.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Cloud Services, Microsoft Office, and SharePoint.
  • Knowledge of networking hardware, servers, firewalls, IPS/IDS, Cisco, and WatchGuard solutions.
  • Strong problem solving skills and ability to work with limited supervision.
  • U.S. citizenship and valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and customer service skills.
  • Required onsite. Preferred Qualifications

  • 2-4 Years Experience Physical & Work Environment Requirements
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, and lift up to 25 lbs. Key Responsibilities Infrastructure & Network Operations
  • Monitor IT operations, systems, and network performance to ensure reliability and compliance.
  • Install, maintain, and upgrade routers, switches, firewalls, wireless access points, and other network devices.
  • Support software, server administration, PC maintenance, printers, copiers, video conferencing systems, and general hardware.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of systems, configurations, accounts, inventory, and network diagrams.
  • Assist with design, implementation, and continuous improvement of the CEMS network environment. EndUser & OnSite Technology Support
  • Provide technical support for office computers, printers, and mobile equipment.
  • Support software installations, updates, and user onboarding and offboarding.
  • Document common issues and resolutions to improve team knowledge and future efficiency.
  • Coordinate with vendors for complex troubleshooting needs.
