Job Description

IT Tech Full Job Description The mission of the IT Tech 1 role is to ensure seamless technology operations, superior point-of-sale (POS) functionality, and engaging audio/visual experiences that enhance the resort's guest experience. The individual in this role will ensure that technology and entertainment work together to deliver a modern, enjoyable, and memorable stay for every guest. The IT Tech 1 will serve as a champion for technology adoption and digital enhancements across the property and work to improve operational efficiency. Maintain and troubleshoot the resort's network infrastructure, including Wi-Fi, wired networks, and security systems. 2. Ensure all computers, servers, and connected devices are operational and secure. 3. Implement and monitor data backup systems and disaster recovery plans. 4. Provide technical support to staff for computers, printers, scanners, mobile devices, and software applications. 5. Assist guests with technical needs by troubleshooting and resolving issues related to wi-fi, door locks and streaming systems, in different resort areas (e.g., RV Units, bungalows, etc.). 6. Evaluate new technologies and recommend upgrades that improve efficiency and enhance the guest experience. 7. Report system performance, outages, and technology needs to the General Manager and ownership. 8. Develop training materials and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for staff use of POS, IT systems, and music equipment. Point of Sale (POS) Management 9. Oversee POS systems used in the resort, including registration desks, retail shops, restaurants, and amenities. 10. Train staff on the proper POS usage, reporting, and troubleshooting. 11. Ensure accurate transaction processing, reporting, and integration with financial systems. 12. Assist in implementing new POS features and upgrades to support the resort's service offerings. Music & Entertainment Management 13. Manage music and sound systems throughout the property, including common areas, pool decks, event spaces, and dining venues. 14. Ensure audio equipment is maintained, functional, and optimized for guest enjoyment. 15. Troubleshoot technological issues during music events. Compliance & Security 16. Ensure IT and POS systems comply with data privacy regulations and standards. 17. Maintain secure passwords, access controls, and anti-virus/malware protection across 18. Monitor system logs and security alerts to detect and mitigate potential threats. Work Schedule This position requires flexibility in scheduling based on the needs of the resort. Team members may be scheduled to work weekends, holidays, and extended hours during peak seasons or special events. Team members may also be called into work outside of their regular schedule to respond to urgent maintenance issues, guest needs, or other operational requirements. Education Associates degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field. Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university, preferred. This position does not have any certification or license requirements. Experience 3-5 years of proven experience managing IT systems, POS operations, and/or entertainment systems, preferably in hospitality, retail, or event venues. Knowledge of network infrastructure, POS software, and audio/visual equipment. Ability to speak, read and write in both English and Spanish, preferred. Talents Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Critical thinking ability and strong decision-making skills.
