About the Role Our client, a growing managed service provider in the North Fort Worth/Keller/Roanoke area, is hiring an IT Field Technician. This is a hands-on position working primarily at client offices throughout the DFW area. When work needs to happen onsite—deploying equipment, cleaning up a network closet, setting up a new user, or bringing an environment back to standard—you will be the person who makes it happen. You will work from clear checklists and established documentation, with senior field engineers and the service desk available when an issue grows beyond the scope of the visit.
The goal is simple:
client sites should be cleaner, better documented, and easier to support after you leave than they were when you arrived. The company supports more than 135 clients across healthcare, legal, and the skilled trades. Its technology stack is standardized, allowing you to focus on completing the work rather than figuring out how every individual site is configured. What You Will Do Travel to client sites throughout the DFW area for scheduled onsite support, deployments, and remediation work Install, configure, and replace desktops, laptops, docks, monitors, printers, and related peripherals Complete workstation deployments, new-user setups, equipment swaps, and office moves Assist with onsite network work, including access-point installations, patching, cable cleanup, and switch or firewall swaps under the direction of a senior engineer Check backup devices, connectivity, and equipment health while onsite and report anything that appears incorrect Identify outdated hardware, messy cabling, documentation gaps, and security risks and document them clearly Complete alignment tasks such as standardizing workstations, confirming endpoint protection is active, and checking patch status Maintain accurate documentation in IT Glue, including asset details, photographs, labels, and site notes Use Autotask PSA for ticketing and timekeeping Work with the service desk and project teams to ensure findings in the field are addressed Escalate server, Azure, security, and architecture issues to the appropriate senior engineer Represent the company professionally in client offices and communicate clearly with the people you meet Assist with occasional after-hours or scheduled work for cutovers, office moves, and hardware refreshes What You Need One to two years of hands-on IT support experience , ideally including onsite or field work Solid troubleshooting skills involving desktops, laptops, printers, monitors, docks, and common end-user issues Working knowledge of Microsoft 365, Windows 10 and 11, and basic Active Directory or Entra ID user administration Basic knowledge of business networking, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, switching, wireless networking, and structured cabling The ability to follow established standards, checklists, and documentation without cutting corners Strong communication skills and a professional presence when working with clients The ability to work independently in the field and manage your time effectively A valid driver's license and reliable transportation for daily local travel Comfort using AI tools to work through problems more efficiently CompTIA A+ or Network+ is a strong plus. If you have not earned these certifications yet, the company will help you get there Preferred but Not Required Previous MSP experience supporting multiple client environments Familiarity with Datto RMM, Autotask, IT Glue, and Microsoft 365 administration tools Hands-on experience with Ubiquiti, SonicWall, or Fortinet equipment Experience with VoIP phones , conference-room setups, and small-office network installations Basic knowledge of multi-factor authentication (MFA), endpoint protection, and other common security controls Schedule and Location This is a full-time, salaried position based in the North Fort Worth/Keller/Roanoke area. Most of your work will take place onsite at client locations throughout DFW. A valid driver's license and reliable transportation are required. This role does not require out-of-state travel. Most weeks follow a standard Monday-through-Friday schedule. Projects, office moves, and cutovers may occasionally require adjusted hours, including some after-hours or weekend work. The on-call rotation begins after 60 days or when you and the company agree that you are ready. Rotations run for one week at a time and include paid per diem. Compensation Compensation is dependent on experience. Pay:
$60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
