Job Summary Ross & Sons is seeking a proactive,dependable,personable and technology minded IT Support Assistant Technician to join our technology department.
This is a position for someone who enjoys working with technology, problem solving everyday problems, and helping people. No professional IT experience or technical certification is required. We are looking for someone with a genuine interest in technology who is willing to learn and investigate common issues as well make a reasonable effort to solve problems before asking for assistance. The work will vary depending on current business needs but will remain centered on IT support, device administration, technical data entry and maintaining digital processes. Task will be assigned by out IT Administrator. Strong attention to detail,especially when entering information or working with user accounts and equipment. Employment is contingent upon successfully completing a pre-employment background check and drug screening. As part of your application, please briefly describe a technology problem you solved. What we are looking for:
A genuine interest in computers, devices,and technology. Experience using Windows PCs and common Microsoft 365 applications. A willingness to learn and independently work through problems. Good judgment about when to continue troubleshoooting and when to ask for help. Strong attention to detail,especially when entering information or working with user accounts and equipment. A dependable , organized and self motivated approach to assigned work. A personable and patient attitude when helping users throughout the day. The ability to explain basic technical information clearly. The ability to safely lift and carry equipment weighing up to 30 lbs. A valid driver's license and reliable trsnsportation. Bilingual English/Spanish ability is preferred but not required. Responsibilities Set up and update devices for new and existing users. Assist with phones, tablets, GPS devices, desktops, laptops, and other technology equipment. Troubleshoot common devices, software and connectivity problems. Help users with passwords, account access, and account resets. Assist with software licensing in various applications. Complete IT-related data entry and maintain accurate device, account, licensing, and inventory information. Help end-users understand basic technology issues in a patient and professional manner. Research unfamiliar problems and try reasonable solutions using available instructions and resources. Escalate complex, security -sensitive, or unresolved issues to the IT Administrator. Complete other IT support and digital-process tasks assigned by the IT Administrator.
Schedule and Travel :
This is an on-site position. You will regularly report to either Newport News or Chesapeake location based on the needs for that week. Reliable transportation is required. Approval travel beyond the assigned reporting locations will be reimbursed according to company policy.
Pay:
From $20.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
