A Help Desk Technician or Analyst provides technical support to computer users. Handles customer inquiries and works to resolve technical issues with computer hardware, software or networks. Provides customer support by phone, email, live chat or with screen sharing. May refer customers with complex system or application problems for more advanced technical support. Tracks help requests using a ticketing system.
The YMCA of the Fox Cities is seeking a full-time Technology Specialist, who will support the technology needs of the association. The YMCA of the Fox Cities Association Team supports six branches, a child care facility, overnight camp, and many before/after school care program sites. The Technology Specialist provides high levels of customer service to all technology end-users at the YMCA of the Fox Cities facilities, develops strong working relationships to increase end-user satisfaction, assists with maintaining the help desk by responding to user support requests, provides technical assistance promptly, and tracks support information.
Key Responsibilities:
Document and handle requests using an issue tracking system; prioritize and follow up proactively on open issues. Analyze, diagnose and solve technical issues. Escalate issues when required. Develop and create documentation and support material, contributing to our organizational knowledge base. Provide basic training to end-users on system features. Prepare and stage new equipment for staff. Prepare and update departmental standard operating procedures. Install and setup software as organizational needs change. Update and maintain accurate records of IT equipment. Modify configurations, utilities and software default settings for the workstations. Associate's degree or other post-secondary education in Information Technology or Computer Science is preferred. Experience working in information technology or computer science including comparable servers and workstations, preferably in a non-profit setting. Ability to use critical thinking, decision making, and program/project management skills. Ability to work with integrity, discretion, confidentiality, and a professional approach. Strong written and verbal communication skills as well as organizational skills. General administrative skills, including attention to detail, and data accuracy. Ability to relate effectively and deliver outstanding customer service to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community. Practical intermediate knowledge of Microsoft 365 software, especially Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint, and ability to quickly learn new software applications.
