We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to help build intelligent internal platforms, automation frameworks, and developer tools that improve quality, and engineering productivity across Apple Ads.

This is a hands-on engineering role focused on building AI/LLM-powered internal tooling and automation systems across mobile, backend, API, and data platform ecosystems. The ideal candidate combines strong software engineering fundamentals with experience building scalable automation, developer infrastructure, and full-stack engineering platforms. Description You will join the Business Integration Testing team responsible for validating high-impact advertising experiences across Apple Services. This role focuses on building scalable internal platforms, automation frameworks, and intelligent developer tooling that improve quality, efficiency, and engineering productivity across Apple Ads.

You will help evolve a unified automation ecosystem that leverages AI/LLM technologies to detect risk patterns earlier, accelerate debugging and test execution. This work spans frontend, mobile, backend, API, device, and data platform environments and is focused on building intelligent internal tooling rather than developing or training AI/ML models.

We are looking for a hands-on engineer who enjoys building systems directly through coding, architecture, debugging, and framework development while collaborating across cross-functional engineering teams to drive scalable technical solutions.

In this role, you will
  • Build scalable end-to-end automation frameworks across frontend, mobile, backend, API, and device ecosystems
  • Develop intelligent developer tooling and automation systems using AI/LLM technologies
  • Design agent-based and MCP-enabled workflows that improve automation efficiency and reduce manual effort
  • Partner with engineering teams across Apple Ads to improve automation coverage, debugging workflows, and developer productivity
  • Drive technical direction for scalable internal tooling and automation infrastructure
  • Contribute directly through architecture, coding, debugging, and framework development Minimum Qualifications 8+ years of hands-on software engineering experience building scalable platforms, developer tools, or automation frameworks Proficiency in Python or Java with the ability to design clean, maintainable, and extensible systems Experience with modern automation technologies such as Playwright, Selenium, XCTest, or XCUITest Hands-on experience building or validating applications within mobile ecosystems, including iOS or Android client-side environments Familiarity with large-scale distributed systems or data platforms such as Kafka, Spark, Hadoop, Hive, or HDFS Understanding of distributed systems, APIs, backend services, and data-driven workflows Applied experience leveraging AI/LLM technologies to build internal tooling, automation, or developer workflows Ability to debug complex system-level issues across interconnected services and platforms Proven success collaborating across engineering organizations and communicating technical concepts clearly Preferred Qualifications Built AI-driven, agent-based, or MCP-enabled automation and developer workflow solutions Familiarity with large-scale distributed systems or data platforms such as Kafka, Spark, Hadoop, Hive, or HDFS Experience creating internal developer platforms, self-service tools, or scalable engineering infrastructure Exposure to advertising technology or other high-scale platform ecosystems Demonstrated ability to lead technical initiatives across cross-functional teams Pay & Benefits At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range.
This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $181,100 and $318,400, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple's Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
