Share Job Job Description Staff Firmware Engineer - Quantum Computing (Onsite, Milpitas, CA) We are looking for an experienced Staff Firmware Engineer for a leading Quantum Computing company. This role will contribute to the development of robust and scalable firmware solutions that are integral to the underlying quantum computer system. This engineer will collaborate with hardware, systems, control software, and validation teams. This is a 6-month contract (conversion to FTE possible), 40 hour/week role. This is an onsite role at the client's offices in Milpitas, CA. This is a W-2 role as a Stage 4 Solutions employee. Health benefits and 401K are offered.
Responsibilities:
Collaborate with the hardware and architecture teams to define systems architecture, design, and components selection
Design and develop firmware for quantum computing controls systems
Contribute technical leadership and expertise to the firmware team
Requirements:
10+ years hand-on firmware development and architecture experience leading to successful commercial products launch.
Experience architecting solutions for multiple products and/or sets of control boards
Expert-level firmware development in C/C++
Intermediate or advanced Python for control and test interfaces
Familiarity with build systems, version control, and test-driven development
Schematic review and hardware debugging tools and techniques
RTOS, and bare metal development experience
Linux development experience, preferred
Communications protocol development and TCP/IP protocol implementations
Adaptability and flexibility in a fast paced development environment, prior start up company experience preferred
Ability to work cross-functionally with hardware, design, manufacturing, and validation teams
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
