Job Description

Grid Dynamics is looking for a Platform/Solution Architect to join a strategic engagement with a Fortune 500 home goods retailer , working on a new web assortment management platform. You'll architect the system that lets merchandising teams create and schedule incremental catalog updates ("Change Sets"), integrating deeply with the client's Product Information Management (PIM), Digital Asset Management (DAM), and translation systems. This role suits someone equally comfortable in a schema-mapping deep-dive and a stakeholder-facing design review. Essential functions Participate in requirements clarification and backlog grooming, working closely with the customer's Product teams Work actively with the architecture team to contribute to system design, particularly around integrations with PIM, DAM, and other enterprise systems Use both AI-assisted and classical engineering methods to develop and test new features Proactively identify and help address risks early, and suggest improvements to the platform's architecture
Qualifications Soft Skills/Conditions:
Strong business requirements analysis and management skills Solid solution design and architecture skills Comfortable presenting and defending architecture decisions to senior/executive stakeholders Available for 4+ hours of daily communication with the team and client Persistent in pushing initiatives forward despite organizational pushback
Hard Skills:
Broad full-stack awareness — frontend, backend, databases, CI/CD, and infrastructure Hands-on experience with PIM and/or CMS solutions Working knowledge of DAM (Digital Asset Management) solutions Experience with both SQL and NoSQL databases Experience with Kafka or other streaming/event-driven solutions Experience with schema-heavy protocols and data mapping solutions Would be a plus Java + Spring stack knowledge Hands-on experience with AI coding agents/tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code) Experience with dedicated PIM or DAM platforms (e.g., Akeneo, Salsify, inRiver, Bloomreach) Prior experience in retail/e-commerce or catalog-heavy domains We offer Opportunity to work on bleeding-edge projects Work with a highly motivated and dedicated team Competitive salary Flexible schedule Benefits package - medical insurance, sports Corporate social events Professional development opportunities Well-equipped office About us Grid Dynamics (
