Job Description
Maximus is seeking a Cloud Engineer to support a defense client remotely. Travel to Washington DC, Northern VA, Boston, MA and San Antonio, Texas will be required. Active Top Secret with SCI eligibility required. Maximus TCS (Technology and Consulting Services)

TCS022, T4, Band 7Job-Specific Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Research, design, develop, run tests, and evaluate systems supporting cloud implementation and integration with cloud service providers, applying principles and techniques of computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis.
- Plan and conduct technical tasks associated with implementation and maintenance of internal cloud enterprise shared virtualization infrastructure.
- Develop and execute cloud solution roadmaps as they relate to business and execute company strategy to drive the achievement of business objectives.
- Formulate and design systems, using scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure outcome and consequences of design.
- Analyze cloud requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints.
- Consult with engineering staff to support hardware, software, operational and performance requirements of overall cloud technology system.

- Active TS/SCI or Top Secret with SCI eligibility required.
- BS in Computer Science, information Technology, or related field. 10 Years of experience may be substituted for a degree.
- 8 Years of work-related experience is required.
- Security+ or DoD 8570 IAT-II certification required.
- Ability to travel 10%
- 20%.
Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
- AWS Solutions Architect
- Associate, Azure Fundamentals, Google Associate Cloud Engineer Certification, IBM Certified Technical Advocate
- Cloud v5, or other cloud certification.
- Understanding of at least one major cloud environment provider.
- Knowledge of networking concepts.
- Familiar with Python and Java programming scripts.
- Understanding and practical experience in CI/CD pipelines and tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, etc.
- Understanding security best practices including encryption, access management, and secure network traffic.
- Experience using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) Terraform tool.
- Knowledge of monitoring and logging tools for cloud environments.
- Proven experience developing detailed plans, managing timelines and milestones, and allocating resources effectively.
- Effective communicator to work with a geographically separate team.
