a { text-decoration: none; color: #464feb;}tr th, tr td { border: 1px solid #e6e6e6;}tr th { background-color: #f5f5f5;} Overview Client is seeking a Senior Systems Software Developer to join its ERP Engineering team and support the design, enhancement, and maintenance of enterprise applications within the IBM iSeries and System21 ERP environment. This role focuses on delivering technology-enabled business processes that improve operational efficiency, data quality, and user experience across the organization. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in IBM iSeries (AS/400), RPG development, and the System21 ERP platform, particularly within the Finance module. This position combines hands-on development, technical leadership, application modernization, and cross-functional collaboration to support critical business operations. Core Responsibilities Support continuous improvement initiatives across ERP and related business systems to align technology with evolving business objectives. Analyze, document, maintain, and help modernize internally developed applications while supporting migration and consolidation efforts. Perform complex data transformations, migrations, and mass data updates in accordance with change control standards. Translate business and transactional process requirements into effective technical solutions. Contribute to enterprise systems architecture and technology standards. Communicate project status, deliverables, and expectations to technical teams and business stakeholders. Collaborate closely with business units to understand operational goals and optimize ERP platform capabilities. Mentor team members and foster strong cross-functional relationships. Develop and maintain integration interfaces using Boomi iPaaS while ensuring availability, performance, and data integrity. Apply advanced system configuration, process automation, and implementation practices within an agile environment. Partner with ERP and Financial Systems teams to represent organizational solutions within the broader ERP community and industry events. Perform additional duties as required. Essential Qualifications, Skills, and Technologies Bachelor's degree in Business Systems, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent business, financial, or technical experience. 8+ years of IBM iSeries RPG development experience, ideally including work with the IBM System21 ERP platform. 8+ years of experience as a Programmer Analyst supporting ERP, financial, or transactional enterprise business systems. Extensive experience with IBM iSeries, DB2, CLP, Sequel Viewpoint, and GoAnywhere. Proven ability to design, develop, and enhance applications on the IBM System21 ERP platform using
RPG III/IV/ILE, RPG
Free, CL, and SQL. Experience with development tools and source control systems such as Aldon Community Manager. Experience serving as a solution architect and translating business requirements into scalable technical solutions. Strong experience collaborating with business stakeholders and cross-functional IT teams to define specifications and deliver solutions. Ability to provide technical oversight and mentorship to other developers. Experience modernizing System21 applications through modularization, API development, and external system integrations. Strong troubleshooting, optimization, and maintenance skills for RPG-based applications, including performance, reliability, and compliance considerations. Deep understanding of System21 ERP modules, including Finance, Distribution, Manufacturing, and related functional areas. Strong knowledge of ERP data structures, business processes, and integration points. Hands-on experience with system performance tuning and debugging. Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills. Preferred Skills or Experience Experience in manufacturing or distribution environments. Work Details Remote within the United States. Candidates must be located in the Eastern or Central Time Zone. Occasional travel is required. The role may require evening and weekend work to support meetings, conferences, and deployment schedules across multiple time zones.
