Job Description This tester will be working for a well known hotel company headquartered in Chicago. The will work in their Digital Lab 2-3 days a week at their headquarters, and will be remote the other days of the week, testing hardware devices.
Responsibilities include:
Perform hands-on testing of mobile-based digital room key functionality within a physical device labValidate communication between mobile applications and electronic door lock systemsTest end-user connectivity experiences across various Wi-Fi networks and network conditionsExecute functional, regression, and exploratory testing across mobile, tablet, and web platformsSimulate real-world guest scenarios to ensure seamless keyless entry experiencesReproduce, document, and track defects while partnering closely with developers and product teamsValidate new releases and firmware updates on Apple and other mobile devicesParticipate in test planning, defect triage, and QA team collaboration effortsInterview Process Skills and Requirements 3+ years of hands-on QA experience testing hardware or connected consumer products
Core Requirements:
Hands-on testing experience with firmware (FW) and hardware (HW) in consumer-facing products / IoT / connected devicesExperience with mobile device interactions (BLE/NFC, Bluetooth communication, mobile key provisioning/unlock flows)Experience logging issues, analyzing device logs, and collaborating across mobile app and hardware/vendor teamsExperience testing mobile devicesStrong understanding of network testing, including Wi-Fi connectivity, connection stability, and offline scenarios (airplane mode, connectivity interruptions, etc.)Experience validating functionality across mobile devices, tablets, and web applicationsAbility to install, configure, and test multiple applications across various devicesExperience identifying, documenting, and tracking defects with clear reproduction stepsStrong troubleshooting, critical thinking, and collaboration skillsBackground testing wearable devices, consumer electronics, or IoT products (Fitbit, smart home devices, connected hardware, etc.)Exposure to firmware validation or hardware/software integration testingExperience testing digital key, smart lock, keyless entry, or access control technologiesExperience testing SSIDs, network configurations, or connectivity across multiple wireless networks We are a company committed to creating diverse and inclusive environments where people can bring their full, authentic selves to work every day.
