Pay Rate:
$40-$45/hr About the Role We are seeking a highly skilled Contract Test Engineer to support interoperability testing for medical device systems in a regulated healthcare environment. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience executing interoperability test cases, validating healthcare data exchange workflows, and identifying integration-related defects. This role focuses on ensuring reliable communication between medical devices, systems, and integration platforms using healthcare interoperability standards. Key Responsibilities Test Execution & Support Execute predefined interoperability test cases across medical device systems, interfaces, and integration platforms Validate device-to-system and system-to-system data exchange workflows for accuracy, completeness, and reliability Record test results, capture logs, and document defects with detailed reproducibility steps Support regression testing activities and verification cycles Interoperability Validation Perform interoperability testing aligned with healthcare standards including HL7, FHIR, DICOM, and IHE profiles Validate message structures, data mapping, and end-to-end transaction workflows Verify system behavior under normal and exception scenarios such as malformed messages and dropped connections Ensure data integrity and conformance to integration requirements Defect Tracking & Analysis Identify, isolate, and document defects related to interoperability and system integration Provide detailed logs and supporting evidence for root cause analysis Re-test resolved issues and confirm successful defect remediation Collaborate with development and integration teams to troubleshoot issues Test Environment & Data Management Configure and utilize simulators, test tools, and mock systems for interoperability testing Assist in maintaining test environments and connectivity configurations Support test data preparation and environment readiness activities Documentation & Reporting Maintain accurate and traceable test execution records within ALM/test management systems Provide regular status updates on testing progress, risks, and blockers Ensure documentation supports compliance and audit readiness requirements Required Qualifications Experience in interoperability or integration testing within healthcare or medical device environments Hands-on knowledge of HL7, FHIR, DICOM, and IHE interoperability standards Strong understanding of defect tracking, test execution, and regression testing processes Experience working with test management or ALM tools Ability to analyze logs, troubleshoot integration issues, and document findings clearly Strong communication and collaboration skills Preferred Qualifications Experience working in regulated environments such as medical devices or healthcare systems Familiarity with interoperability simulators and healthcare integration platforms Exposure to audit and compliance documentation practices
