Job Description
Senior Cloud Data EngineerAbout the Role We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Cloud Data Engineer to design, build, and optimize modern cloud-based data platforms that enable scalable analytics, reporting, and business intelligence solutions. In this role, you will collaborate with data architects, engineering teams, business stakeholders, and product teams to develop robust data pipelines, ensure data quality, and support enterprise-wide data initiatives. The ideal candidate has deep expertise in AWS, Snowflake, Informatica Intelligent Cloud Services (IICS), Airflow, and modern data architecture principles, including Data Mesh and cloud-native data engineering practices. Responsibilities Design, develop, deploy, and maintain scalable cloud-based data pipelines and data integration solutions. Build and optimize enterprise data warehouse solutions using Snowflake and AWS cloud technologies. Implement and support decentralized data architectures, including Data Mesh principles and best practices. Create and maintain data models that support analytical, operational, and reporting requirements. Develop ETL/ELT processes using Informatica IICS and other cloud integration technologies. Orchestrate workflows and automate data movement using Apache Airflow. Support CI/CD implementations using GitHub and modern DevOps practices. Collaborate with architects, analysts, data scientists, and business stakeholders to understand data requirements and propose effective solutions. Monitor and optimize platform performance, reliability, scalability, and security. Ensure compliance with data governance, privacy, and regulatory requirements, including HIPAA where applicable. Troubleshoot and resolve complex data integration and platform issues. Document technical designs, architecture decisions, and operational procedures. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience. 5+ years of experience designing and developing data pipelines, cloud data platforms, data warehouses, and enterprise information systems. 3-5 years of experience developing cloud-based data solutions on AWS. 5+ years of experience with Snowflake or comparable cloud data warehouse technologies. Experience designing and maintaining end-to-end data pipelines. Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts, dimensional modeling, and enterprise data architecture. Experience implementing decentralized architectures such as Data Mesh. Hands-on experience with Informatica IICS for ETL/ELT development. Experience with Apache Airflow workflow orchestration. Knowledge of GitHub and CI/CD deployment methodologies. Strong proficiency in Linux, Unix, and shell scripting. Experience working with large-scale, multi-terabyte cloud data environments. Solid understanding of system administration, database administration, storage, networking, backup, and recovery concepts. Strong communication and stakeholder management skills. Experience handling sensitive healthcare data and familiarity with HIPAA regulations. Preferred Qualifications AWS Certification (Solutions Architect, Data Engineer, or related certification). Snowflake Certification (SnowPro preferred). Experience with Tableau and/or Power BI. Experience implementing enterprise-scale Data Mesh architectures. Knowledge of data governance, metadata management, and data quality frameworks. Experience working in healthcare, life sciences, or regulated industries.
