Job Description Job Description Overview:

By Light is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to join our team in support of critical national security programs. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in systems engineering, with a focus on complex system integration and test activities. This position will involve close collaboration with government customers and internal stakeholders to ensure successful system delivery and operational readiness.

Responsibilities:

Lead system integration and test planning, execution, and reporting for complex systems. Develop and maintain system requirements, functional flow diagrams, and interface control documents. Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure system requirements are met and issues are resolved. Conduct system-level testing and analysis to validate system performance and compliance with requirements. Provide technical expertise and guidance to junior engineers and other team members. Support customer reviews, audits, and other technical activities as required. Maintain current knowledge of systems engineering best practices and emerging technologies.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Computer, Systems, or related field) required; Master's degree preferred. Minimum of 8 years of experience in systems engineering, with at least 5 years in complex system integration and test. Experience with systems engineering methodologies (e.g., INCOSE, IEEE) and tools (e.g., DOORS, Rhapsody). Strong understanding of system requirements, functional flow, and interface control documents. Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Active DoD security clearance required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with specific government programs or systems of interest. Knowledge of model-based systems engineering (MBSE) and related tools. Experience with agile development methodologies.
