Agensys is seeking a Systems Engineer Lead to support the Department of Energy Office of Science (SC) CBOSS Science program. This leadership position serves as the senior technical authority for systems engineering services supporting the Office of Information Management (OIM) and Office of Science mission systems. The Systems Engineer Lead will oversee a team of Systems Engineers while providing strategic direction for enterprise architecture, infrastructure modernization, secure systems integration, and lifecycle management across cloud, on-premises, and hybrid environments.

Responsibilities:

Lead and mentor a team of Systems Engineers supporting enterprise IT initiatives. Serve as the primary technical liaison between Systems Engineering, OIM leadership, and cross-functional teams. Provide technical leadership for enterprise architecture, modernization, and infrastructure strategy. Oversee the design and documentation of enterprise solutions across cloud, hybrid, and on-premises environments. Guide secure integration planning, configuration management, architecture documentation, and technical baselines. Lead technical planning, feasibility studies, requirements analysis, and risk assessments. Direct Alternatives Analysis (AA) and Cost-Benefit Analysis (CBA) efforts supporting modernization initiatives. Ensure engineering activities align with DOE cybersecurity requirements and Office of Science lifecycle methodologies. Serve as the escalation point for complex engineering issues and major infrastructure events. Coordinate engineering support during outages, maintenance windows, and infrastructure transitions. Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend enterprise solutions that improve security, resiliency, and scalability. Collaborate closely with Cybersecurity, Operations, Infrastructure, and Application Development teams.

Required Qualifications:

Demonstrated leadership experience managing Systems Engineering teams. Experience leading enterprise infrastructure and modernization initiatives. Strong background in systems engineering, enterprise architecture, and infrastructure design. Experience designing and supporting cloud, hybrid, and on-premises environments. Experience with secure systems integration and transition to operations. Knowledge of systems lifecycle management, documentation standards, and engineering governance. Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles and secure system design. Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

Azure Solutions Architect Expert Microsoft 365 Enterprise Administrator Expert CCNP VMware Certified Professional (VCP) Palo Alto or equivalent security certifications Experience supporting the Department of Energy or other Federal civilian agencies. Familiarity with Office of Science lifecycle management processes. #AC2

Pay:

$150,000.00 - $190,000.00 per year
