We're hiring a controls engineer whose job is to make our other engineers unnecessary on standard projects. Not because we don't value engineers, but because we value taking the struggle out of the work. EPLAN is how we've done that so far and we want to push it further. Automated Drive Systems builds control panels in Omaha, NE. We run EPLAN and we've invested heavily in eBuild, macros, and templates. This is a new role for the engineer who owns that platform and keeps driving it forward every week. What you'd do Continue building our macro and circuit template library to the point where a trained designer, guided by our quote system and your documentation, can take a standard project from schematic to floor-ready exports without you checking every line Build eBuild journeys for more and more circuits and products Keep part data clean and project structure honest Write documentation other people can actually follow Carry projects of your own as time allows We're moving a craftsman off our shop floor into EPLAN training to become our first designer. Your work is what makes the second and third one possible. You'd be measured differently than a project engineer: by what other people can produce with what you've built. Who does well in this seat Someone who gets irritated by copy-pasted projects and stale part data, and would rather fix a process once than work around it fifty times. Someone who understands that the integrity of the data in the system is the lead measure for defect-free engineering on the production floor. Requirements On-site in Omaha, NE. Not negotiable, and here's why: this role only works if you're standing on the floor when a defect traces back to a drawing, watching how designers and wiremen use your outputs.
