Your role : Build your resume experience and enhance your marketability with real-work, hands-on practice through a Co-Op/Intern opportunity! Saab is in search of motivated, enthusiastic engineering/science (software, electrical, math, and physics) student(s) who would be interested in putting their studies to real-work practice through a Co-op/Intern opportunity at our Collamer location in East Syracuse, NY. As part of the Systems Engineering group, you would be working with our team to provide products and services to assist airports and airlines operate more efficiently by leveraging the benefits of the Aerobahn product suite and Digital Tower solutions.

Responsibilities and learning opportunities include:

Conducting and supporting system integration in both laboratory and operational environments Performing system and data analysis and propose solutions to customer problems Generating and investigating problem reports Participating in technical reviews and status meetings

Compensation Range:

$20.27-$22.30/hr

In addition to a competitive hourly rate, Saab Inc. offers a sign-on bonus to off-set housing expenses for Co-Ops residing outside the typical office commuting distance. The compensation range provided is a general guideline. When extending an offer, Saab, Inc. considers factors including (but not limited to) the role and associated responsibilities, location, and market and business considerations, as well as the candidate's work experience, key skills, and education/training.

Skills and Experience:
Required Skills:

Ability to systematically evaluate data

Some software programming or scripting experience and ability to read and understand software/scripting code

Willingness to learn and take on new challenges

Good written and verbal communication skills

Strong teamwork

Desired Skills:

Relational Database experience (SQL)

Familiarity with Unix-based systems (Linux)

Experience in Java, C#, and/or Python

HTML and other web/mobile development technologies would be a plus

An basic understanding of hardware interfaces including physical characteristics, electrical characteristics and communication protocols

Ability to perform basic data analysis

Ability to perform trade studies

Qualifications:

Enrollment in an accredited degree program with a major in Engineering or related discipline

Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better

Must have completed Sophomore year or greater

Citizenship Requirements:

Must be a U.S. citizen, Permanent Resident (green card holder), or protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3).
