Our client is currently seeking a Junior System Engineer Responsibilities Support the reliability, availability, and performance of business-critical applications and infrastructure. Monitor production services, investigate system alerts, troubleshoot issues, and assist with incident resolution. Perform operational activities including system health monitoring, log analysis, root cause investigation, and service maintenance. Assist with application deployments, software upgrades, patch management, and change implementation. Develop and maintain technical documentation, operational runbooks, and support procedures. Learn and support cloud-based infrastructure and services, with a focus on AWS technologies. Partner with engineering, security, networking, identity management, and operations teams to resolve technical issues and implement improvements. Contribute to automation initiatives that enhance operational efficiency, reliability, and scalability. Support security, compliance, audit, and vulnerability remediation efforts. Participate in Agile development processes, team planning, and continuous improvement activities. Participate in an on-call rotation and support production systems as needed. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience. Experience with Linux/Unix systems through academic coursework, internships, personal projects, or professional experience. Basic understanding of cloud computing concepts and modern infrastructure architectures. Experience with version control systems such as Git. Knowledge of scripting or programming fundamentals in one or more languages. Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams. Preferred Qualifications Experience with GitHub and collaborative software development workflows. Familiarity with CI/CD concepts and tools such as GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or Azure DevOps. Exposure to Infrastructure as Code (IaC) technologies such as Terraform or AWS CloudFormation. Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Microsoft Copilot, or Claude. Understanding of cybersecurity fundamentals, secure coding practices, and vulnerability management. Experience supporting applications, cloud environments, or production systems through internships, academic projects, or personal projects. Knowledge of AWS services including EC2, VPC, IAM, and Security Groups. Exposure to DevOps, automation, and site reliability engineering practices. Experience with financial services, payment systems, or highly regulated environments. Familiarity with Swift ecosystem technologies is a plus.
