Back Cloud Software Engineer III Cloud DevOps St. Louis , MO Contract Sep 8, 2026 Title Senior DevSecOps Platform Engineer Location Hybrid in St Louis, MO Overview This opportunity supports a large, regulated enterprise organization operating a mission-critical DevSecOps platform and toolchain used by 300+ software developers. The Senior DevSecOps Platform Engineer will provide production ownership of the existing AWS/EKS-based environment while helping drive a strategic transition from self-hosted development platforms to SaaS-based solutions. The role combines hands-on platform engineering, operational support, security integration, developer enablement, and enterprise-scale migration initiatives. Must-Have Domains Enterprise DevSecOps platform engineering and CI/CD operations. AWS cloud infrastructure and production Kubernetes/EKS environments. Application security, platform security, identity, and infrastructure automation. Core Responsibilities Administer and support the existing DevSecOps platform, including GitHub Enterprise Server, CloudBees CI/Jenkins, Artifactory/Xray, SonarQube, AWS, and EKS. Maintain and extend Terraform infrastructure, Kubernetes workloads, Helm deployments, and supporting cloud services through controlled, PR-based delivery workflows. Troubleshoot production incidents across compute, storage, networking, identity, certificates, CI/CD pipelines, and platform integrations supporting 300+ developers. Build the target GitHub Enterprise Cloud environment, including GitHub Actions, reusable workflows, ARC self-hosted runners on EKS, enterprise identity, SSO/SCIM, and security controls. Contribute to enterprise platform consolidation and migration initiatives, including repository migration waves, developer onboarding, validation, rollback planning, documentation, and legacy-platform decommissioning. Must-Have Experience 7+ years of DevOps, DevSecOps, or platform engineering experience with broad ownership of enterprise production environments. Hands-on experience administering enterprise CI/CD platforms and developing pipelines using Jenkins/CloudBees and GitHub Actions, including reusable workflows, runners, secrets, and shared libraries. Strong production experience across AWS, Kubernetes/EKS, Terraform, Linux, networking, identity, TLS/certificates, security tooling, and incident troubleshooting. Top 5
Must-Have Technical Skills AWS Cloud:
EKS, EC2, VPC, IAM, S3, Route 53, KMS, EFS, and related production cloud services.
Terraform:
Production-scale infrastructure as code, including modules, state management, multi-environment deployments, and pipeline-driven plan/apply workflows.
Python Scripting:
Hands-on automation and operational scripting experience; Bash and Groovy experience also required.
CI/CD & GitHub:
CloudBees CI/Jenkins, GitHub Enterprise, GitHub Actions, reusable workflows, runners, secrets management, and pipeline troubleshooting.
Kubernetes & Platform Engineering:
Production EKS, Helm, Docker, Linux, networking, PKI/TLS, identity/SSO, and platform security integration. Education Bachelor's degree required. Preferred Skills Enterprise-scale GitHub Enterprise Server to GitHub Enterprise Cloud/EMU migration experience. Jenkins/CloudBees to GitHub Actions migration and pipeline-conversion experience. GitHub Enterprise Importer (GEI) and Actions Runner Controller (ARC) production experience. Experience with code quality and security tooling, including SonarQube, Artifactory/Xray, SAST, SCA, SBOM, container scanning, and quality gates. AWS DevOps Engineer - Professional or Solutions Architect certification. Atlassian Cloud migration experience. Experience working within regulated enterprise environments with formal change-management processes. Work Environment Hybrid schedule requiring 3 days per week in the office, preferably Wednesday through Friday. Initial focus will be learning and supporting the existing production platform before taking on broader consolidation and migration roadmap initiatives. Role includes ongoing production and operational support, incident resolution, developer enablement, documentation, vulnerability remediation, and participation in an on-call rotation. Contract engagement with the organizational goal of conversion to a permanent position, subject to management approval. Interview process includes a one-hour Microsoft Teams interview.
