Job Purpose As a digital tools engineer, you will develop, deploy, and support digital solutions that improve engineering efficiency, automate repetitive activities, enhance data-driven decision making, and reduce development lead time across the Interior Development Division. Key Accountabilities Digital Solution Development Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and continuously improve digital tools using modern software development practices. Deliver solutions that automate engineering workflows, reduce manual effort, improve engineering quality, and shorten development cycle time.
Examples:
Layout check automation, drawing quality checks, specification validation, cost analysis automation, PIC dashboards, resource planning tools, knowledge retrieval agents Stakeholder Engagement & Deployment Collaborate across multiple departments with engineers, technical leaders, digital transformation teams, and end users to identify opportunities[NM1.1], gather requirements, perform user acceptance testing, deploy solutions, and ensure successful adoption. Documentation & User Enablement Create technical documentation, support materials, training content, and user guides necessary for deployment, maintenance, and long-term sustainability [NM2.1]of digital solutions. Project Management Lead or support digital tool projects by defining scope, maintaining schedules, coordinating activities, tracking progress, and communicating status to stakeholders. Personal Development Proactively identify opportunities to improve engineering processes, evaluate emerging technologies[NM3.1] digital resources and technologies, and expand technical expertise through self-development, training, and industry best practices. Qualifications, Experience, and Skills A Bachelors level degree in Software Engineering / Computer Science / Computer Information Systems / Information Technology, / Mechanical, Aerospace / Automotive Engineering; or equivalent combination of academics relevant industry experience At least 3 or more years of relevant industry experience Other preferred experience: o Developing engineering automation tools o Power Platform o Working with SharePoint APIs o Applying AI/LLM solutions o Developing dashboards and analytics Must have scripting expertise in Python and JavaScript Highly desired -- software development expertise in OOP (e.g. - C++ / Java) Microsoft ecosystem: PowerApps (PowerBI, Power Automate), CoPilot Studio Sharepoint Governance and Site Administration skills Past experience with configuring tools and templates for CAD software (CATIA V6 preferred)

AI-assisted development, LLMs, Data modelling, API integration Must be proficient in use of Microsoft Office programs Ability to understand product development and engineering data workflows Aptitude for studying mechanical design Workstyle This is an onsite job. One remote workday per week may be possible with prior departmental approval.
Travel requirements:
