Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer Texas, Plano 09/14/2026 Contract Active
Job Summary
The Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer will provide operational and technical support for cloud infrastructure across Azure and AWS environments. The role will focus on cloud administration, server and operating system administration, patching, maintenance, troubleshooting, scripting, automation, and production support within a 24x7 environment. The engineer will handle critical incidents and escalations, contribute to projects and proof-of-concepts, develop operational documentation, support L1/L2 teams, and deliver timely and high-quality service to internal and external customers. Key Responsibilities
- Administer and support cloud infrastructure across Azure and AWS environments.
- Apply strong understanding of cloud computing, networking, and storage principles to support enterprise infrastructure.
- Perform OS and server administration, patching, maintenance, troubleshooting, and lifecycle activities.
- Support diverse cloud environments operating within a 24x7 production support model.
- Develop and maintain scripting and automation solutions to improve operational efficiency.
- Support DevOps, scripting, API, and Infrastructure as Code activities, including Terraform where applicable.
- Support emerging technologies including containers and Platform as a Service (PaaS) solutions.
- Participate in on-call rotations and provide production support as required.
- Independently support project activities and develop proof-of-concepts (POCs).
- Handle P1/P2 incidents, escalations, troubleshooting, and resolution activities.
- Create and maintain quality Knowledge Base articles, Problem Management documentation, SOPs, and runbooks.
- Provide technical guidance and support to L1/L2 staff.
- Collaborate with internal and external customers to understand requirements and resolve infrastructure issues.
- Maintain strong communication and provide timely updates during incidents, escalations, and project activities.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of cloud operations, support processes, and service delivery. Required Qualifications
- 8+ years of overall operational experience.
- 5+ years of experience with Azure and/or AWS.
- 3+ years of experience working in a diverse cloud support environment within a 24x7 production support model.
- 2+ years of experience with DevOps, scripting, and APIs.
- Solid understanding of cloud computing, networking, and storage principles.
- Experience with cloud administration, OS/server administration, patching, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
- Solid scripting and automation experience.
- Experience handling P1/P2 incidents and escalations.
- Ability to work independently in project environments and develop POCs.
- Ability to create quality Knowledge Base articles, Problem Management documentation, SOPs, and runbooks.
- Ability to participate in on-call rotations.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with internal and external customers.
- Strong customer-service orientation and ability to deliver timely and effective support. Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code.
- Experience with DevOps automation and scripting.
- Familiarity with containers and PaaS solutions.
- Experience supporting multiple cloud platforms and willingness to work across Azure and AWS environments. Certifications
