The Systems Engineer III will perform and support systems-engineering activities throughout the acquisition life cycle, including requirements analysis, system design, integration, testing, technical documentation, system-performance assessment, and configuration activities. Security Clearance Active SECRET security clearance required at the time of employment/start of contract performance. Candidate must be able to maintain the required security clearance throughout employment. Duties and Responsibilities Participate in systems-engineering activities, including requirements analysis, functional analysis, design-solution formulation, systems analysis and control, and systems-architecture development. Apply systems-engineering principles to translate quantified needs and requirements into system-performance parameters and system/item configurations. Formulate systems-engineering documents, processes, procedures, and milestones. Apply knowledge of the Systems Engineering Management Process within the Army/DoD acquisition environment. Support top-level design, development, integration, testing, installation, and troubleshooting. Translate military operational and mission requirements into practical system concepts and performance specifications. Develop and maintain technical documentation, including specifications, engineering drawings, system-interface requirements, and engineering changes. Participate in post-award activities, program reviews, design reviews, and IPTs. Evaluate design efforts for engineering-discipline integration and technical adequacy. Review Government and contractor test plans, procedures, reports, and failure reports for technical adequacy. Evaluate system performance against specification requirements. Monitor and assess field performance and technical risk. Support engineering change proposals, waivers/deviations, and physical and functional configuration audits. Review program-management documents for accuracy and adequacy of technical content. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor of Science in Engineering 10 years of relevant experience Ability to serve as a subject-matter expert for Systems Engineering and lead engineering efforts on assigned programs with minimal Government oversight. Required Knowledge and Skills Systems Engineering Management Process and implementation. Army/DoD acquisition processes throughout applicable life-cycle phases. DoD systems-engineering policies. Integrated Product and Process Development (IPPD). Integrated Product Team management. Requirements analysis and system integration. Technical documentation and configuration management. System testing and performance assessment. Preferred Qualifications Previous Army/DoD systems-engineering experience. Experience supporting a U.S. Army Program Support or PM organization. Experience participating in design reviews, IPTs, technical reviews, and Government/contractor testing. Additional Information This position is contingent upon contract award, funding, Government requirements, and position availability.
