Responsibilities:
Lead cybersecurity and compliance activities for information systems, ensuring alignment with applicable government and defense security frameworks and standards. Evaluate current security controls, identify gaps, and create corrective action plans that drive issues through successful remediation. Develop, refine, and enforce security policies, technical standards, and operational procedures that support an effective cybersecurity program. Manage assessment and authorization efforts for classified environments using a risk-based framework and maintain readiness for audits and reviews. Perform ongoing security monitoring, control assessments, and audit support to detect threats, investigate concerns, and strengthen defensive capabilities. Assist with incident response and forensic review activities, including coordination during security events that require urgent technical support. Support the configuration and maintenance of firewalls, network protections, and security infrastructure across enterprise systems and connected environments. Partner with IT teams, security leadership, facility stakeholders, auditors, customers, and external agencies to communicate risk, project status, and compliance priorities. Deliver security guidance for new technology initiatives and help ensure appropriate controls are built into systems, applications, and infrastructure from the outset. Coordinate cybersecurity awareness efforts and recommend process improvements that enhance operational efficiency and reduce exposure to risk. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Security, or a related discipline with substantial IT experience including multiple years in security leadership, or a Master's degree with comparable relevant experience. At least 3 years of experience supporting information technology work tied to Department of Defense contracts or similarly regulated government programs. Strong working knowledge of cybersecurity disciplines such as threat hunting, threat modeling, digital forensics, phishing defense, penetration testing, and security risk management. Hands-on experience with security technologies and infrastructure including firewalls, network protection tools, cloud services, web applications, servers, and configuration management practices. Familiarity with cybersecurity compliance frameworks and standards such as NIST, RMF, and FedRAMP, along with experience managing audit and compliance risk. Ability to qualify for a U.S. Government security clearance and meet U.S. Person requirements associated with federal contracting environments. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate technical security matters for both technical teams and business stakeholders. Certifications aligned with security compliance or engineering are preferred, and the ability to support limited travel and occasional after-hours emergency response is expected.
