Summary:
The Security Operations Center (SOC) Analyst plays a key role in monitoring, detecting, and responding to cybersecurity threats across Teachers' on-premises and cloud environments. This role focuses on real-time security event analysis, early identification of suspicious activity, and effective escalation to senior cybersecurity teams, helping safeguard critical information technology (IT) assets and strengthen the organization's overall security posture. Education and/or Experience Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, Engineering, or a related field or a minimum of eight years related experience required Minimum three years' experience in in cybersecurity operations, SOC monitoring, or IT security roles required Solid understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/S) required Working knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems and log analysis Familiarity with common cyber threats such as phishing, malware, brute force attacks, ransomware, and credential abuse Experience using SIEM platforms such as Microsoft Sentinel, Splunk, or QRadar Exposure to EDR/XDR tools such as Microsoft Defender, CrowdStrike, SentinelOne, or similar solutions Basic level experience of Gen AI and prompt level AI usage Good understanding of incident detection, investigation, and escalation processes Familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks such as MITRE ATT&CK and
NIST CSF
is preferred Certifications such as CompTIA Security+, SC-200, or Blue Team Level 1 are desirable. Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to clearly document finding
Job Responsibilities:
Monitors security alerts from Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) platforms, Endpoint Detection and Response / Extended Detection and Response (EDR/XDR) tools, email security systems, network security tools, and cloud security technologies within a 24/7 Security Operations Center. Supports proactive threat-hunting based on Indicators of Compromise (IOCs) within the Teachers environment Develops, maintains, and continuously improves SOC incident response playbooks and security automation workflows Performs initial triage, validation, and classification of security events and incidents using documented runbooks and SOPs Investigates common threats such as phishing attacks, malware detections, suspicious authentication attempts, and policy violations Escalates high-risk or complex incidents to per policy and procedure Assists with containment activities under guidance, including endpoint isolation, user account suspension, and IOC blocking Creates and maintains accurate incident tickets, evidence collection, and case notes Supports vulnerability management activities by validating alerts and tracking remediation status Participates in breach simulations and tabletop exercises Collaborates with IT Operations, Security Engineering, and Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) teams during investigations Follow SOC operational procedures, escalation paths, and service-level expectations. Prepares Cybersecurity Incident reports with detailed analysis following MITRE Attack framework Maintains awareness of emerging threats, attacker techniques, and new detection methods Performs other duties as needed upon request by immediate supervisor Benefits of Joining the

This range is an estimate, based on potential employee qualifications and operational needs. The salary may vary above and below the stated amounts, as permitted by applicable law.
