Job Description

Robert Half is actively partnering with an Austin-based client to identify a Application Security Engineer (contract). In this role, you will will partner with software development, IT, and security teams to identify and mitigate application risks, implement secure development practices, and ensure compliance with cybersecurity standards and best practices. This role is hybrid in Austin, Tx.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with development teams to establish and enforce secure coding standards, code review practices, and security-focused testing methodologies.

Conduct application security assessments, including code reviews, threat modeling, architecture reviews, and vulnerability analysis.

Develop and maintain application security policies, standards, procedures, and developer guidance materials.

Identify, prioritize, and coordinate remediation efforts for application vulnerabilities and security risks.

Monitor compliance with application security requirements, policies, and security tooling across the software development lifecycle.

Design and implement security controls including authentication, authorization, encryption, data protection, and network security measures.

Provide security training, awareness, and consultation to software engineering and technology teams.

Partner with stakeholders to evaluate security risks and integrate security best practices into development and operational processes.

Prepare security assessment findings, risk reports, and recommendations for leadership and technical teams.
