Job Description Lakeshore Learning's products end up in the hands of millions of children, educators, and families — and keeping those interactions safe starts with the security of our systems. As our Manager of IT Security , you'll lead a team of security engineers and analysts protecting Lakeshore across vulnerability management, incident detection and response, and identity and access management. You'll help shape how we think about security as we grow, partnering across the business to reduce risk and develop a security program that's built to last. This is a remote role; candidates must be able to work effectively in a distributed environment and are welcome to apply from anywhere in the U.S. A day on the job looks like this: Leading, coaching, and developing a team of security engineers and analysts — setting clear expectations, giving direct feedback and building the individual capabilities that make the whole team stronger Guiding your team through the day-to-day work of vulnerability management, incident detection and response, and identity and access management, keeping quality high and risks in check Driving execution of multi-year security initiatives, helping translate strategy into execution and keeping work moving when priorities or conditions shift Partnering with senior stakeholders/leadership to develop and maintain information security policies, procedures, GRC, procedures and plans that reflect where the organization is and where it's headed Evaluating security technologies and controls — from proof-of-concept testing to vendor partnerships — and leading implementation and continuous improvement efforts that measurably strengthen our security posture Spotting the root causes behind technical and operational problems, not just the surface symptoms, and leading your team to solutions that hold up over time Qualifications Got the skills and experience? Here's what we're looking for: Required 5+ years of hands-on experience in information security, with meaningful exposure across multiple domains such as vulnerability management, incident response, endpoint security, or identity and access management 2+ years of experience leading a team of security professionals, including hiring, coaching, performance management and career development Working experience securing both on-premises and cloud environments, with a solid understanding of cloud networking and operations concepts Demonstrated ability to communicate security risks and recommendations clearly to both technical teams and non-technical stakeholders Experience contributing to or executing security roadmaps, policies or programs in a growing or maturing organization
