This is a hands-on management position responsible for overseeing security technicians, managing day-to-day department operations, maintaining high installation and service standards, and helping drive sales and business growth. The ideal candidate will have professional security technician experience along with strong leadership, customer service, and sales skills. This position requires someone who understands the technical side of the security industry and can effectively manage technicians, customers, projects, and sales opportunities. - Install security, fire alarm, access control systems as well as CCTV cameras and other systems, specifically Alarm.
com & ELK Manage, supervise, and support security technicians and department personnel Ensure technicians complete projects safely, efficiently, and according to company standards Assist with scheduling, job assignments, project planning, and workload management Help identify new sales opportunities and grow the security division Assist with estimates, proposals, system recommendations, and project follow-up Monitor job quality, productivity, customer satisfaction, and department performance Train, mentor, and develop security technicians Help establish procedures and accountability within the department
- Perform other low voltage work like mounting TV's, installing speakers, automation devices, and Wi-Fi and networking systems.
Essential Skills, Abilities and Qualifications Previous security technician experience is required Professional, dependable, and able to take ownership of department performance Strong knowledge of security system installation, service, and troubleshooting Experience with alarm, surveillance/camera, access control, or related low-voltage security systems Previous supervisory or management experience strongly preferred Ability to lead and manage multiple technicians and projects simultaneously Excellent communication and customer service skills Sales experience or the ability to recognize and develop sales opportunities
- Knowledgeable on CCTV, alarms, access control, motion detectors, intercoms.
- Understanding low-voltage wiring, circuit diagrams, and electrical safety.
- Network basics: Familiarity with IP cameras, routers, switches, and basic network troubleshooting.
- Ability to link systems (e.g., alarm to camera or door access) and use associated software. Education & Experience
- High school or equivalent (Required)
- Electrical apprenticeship school is a plus
- ES3J License is a plus
- Any relevant training/licenses/certificates (Alarm.com & ELK a big plus!)
- At least 3+ years of low voltage technician field experience
- At least 3+ years of security technician experience.
Requirements Must have an active driver's license and reliable transportation. Must have a smart phone and e-mail. Must have reliable transportation or ability to commute.
