20 days of vacation per year, accruing at a rate of 6.15 hours per pay period for the first five years of employment
Sick Time:
40 hours/year (increased to 69 hours/year for Seattle) including 5 discretionary sick days per instance Maternity Leave (Short-Term Disability + Baby Bonding): 28-30 weeks
Baby Bonding Leave:
18 weeks
Holidays:
13 paid days per year Minimum qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology or a related field and 3 years of experience in the job offered or in a Security Engineer-related occupation. Position requires 3 years of experience in the following: Threat modeling for system security Systems hardening to reduce attack surface Implementation of security protocols Security detection and response Security incident management About the job The Core team builds the technical foundation behind Google's flagship products. We look across Google's products to build central solutions, break down technical barriers and strengthen existing systems. As the Core team, we have a mandate and a unique opportunity to impact important technical decisions across the company. The US base salary range for this full-time position is $147,000 - $211,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities Analyze security systems to identify vulnerabilities and respond to active threats in the environment. Design, implement, and maintain robust security controls, tools, and services to mitigate risks Operate information security systems and execute established procedures to ensure ongoing protection. Develop new features and bug fixes for existing security tools and products to enhance functionality. Lead short-term, complex operational tasks independently, escalating critical issues when necessary. Improve security outcomes by proactively identifying and implementing enhancements to tools and processes.
