Data Engineer Hoar Birmingham, AL Job Details Full-time 17 hours ago Qualifications Data visualization software proficiency Microsoft Power Automate SQL Business intelligence tools Project management Data-driven problem-solving Root cause analysis Query management Data analytics technologies Cross-functional communication Full Job Description The Data Engineer role is responsible for developing and scaling end-to-end data and analytics solutions that enable self-service and analytics efforts. This role will work with key business partners across the organization to understand business problems and translate them into automated processes and functional data resources.
Responsibilities:
Create and maintain optimal data pipeline architecture. Assemble large, complex data sets that meet functional requirements. Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements: automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability, etc. Build the infrastructure required for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from a wide variety of data sources using SQL. Create Power Platform objects for data insert and data consumption. Build analytics tools that utilize the data pipeline to provide actionable insights into customer acquisition, operational efficiency, and other key business performance metrics. Work with stakeholders including the Executive, Product, Data and Design teams to assist with data-related technical issues and support their data infrastructure needs. Keep our data separated and secure across boundaries through multiple databases, servers, data centers, and Azure regions. Create data tools for analytics and support the data architect. Build processes supporting data transformation, data structures, metadata, dependency, and workload management.
Requirements:
5+ years in Data Engineer or similar role A Bachelor's Degree in CS, Information Systems, a related field or equivalent work experience Advanced working SQL knowledge and experience working with relational databases, query authoring (SQL) as well as working familiarity with a variety of databases. Experience performing root cause analysis on internal and external data and processes to answer specific business questions and identify opportunities for improvement. Strong analytic skills related to working with unstructured datasets. Strong project management and organizational skills. Experience supporting and working with cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment. Experience with Power BI, Power Automate and Power Platform tools.
