Job Description

Education/Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree required in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering or related field required.
Certification is a PLUS
  • Six Sigma, CBPP, BPM, ISO 20000, ITIL, CMMI.Potential exposure to graphic and/or objectionable content to any extent
  • TRAVEL
  • Potentially a few times a year
REQUIRED
  • 8+ years of experience in Data Engineering (will accept 6+ DE YoE if resume is otherwise outstanding and supplemented with 2+ non-DE YoE, and can show experience leading a very broad and/or complex scope of work that requires expert-level DE skills
  • Expert-level SQL (Presto, Postgres, MySQL, etc
  • any form is fine
  • Expert-level Python
  • Experience building ETL pipelines
  • Expert-level proficiency using pipelining tools (e.g. Airflow, Dataswarm, etc
  • Experience leading DE efforts on large XFN projects with a wide variety of technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Most recent experiences have been as an IC (i.e. not a manager, team lead, TPM, and/or tech lead
  • Expert-level communication
  • Due to the technical complexity of the role, we'd ideally like to find someone who has experience working on data warehousing and building (+ leading end-to-end projects to build) high-complexity monitoring
  • Successful candidates have Startup / self-employed experience — shows initiative and ability to wear multiple hats
  • Big tech experience not necessary; non-traditional backgrounds are welcomeNice to
Have Skills:
  • Demonstrated experience using AI to expedite project delivery (or even better
  • building AI components to help automate workflows for non-technical stakeholders
  • Experience working on projects for highly-regulated industries (e.g. legal, compliance, finance, security, privacy, etc

  • Experience working in startups / ambiguous environments with a broader scope of work
Key Projects:
Level IV/V responsibilitiesSenior engineers build tables containing legally relevant informationand develop alerting systems that create tasks or send emails whenissues arise (e.g., unauthorized data modifications)Building ETL pipelines:

Engineers are responsible for scheduling and querying massivetables, ensuring efficient data extraction and transformation.

Collaborating with attorneys:

Work closely with attorneys and Data Scientists to understand whatdata is needed, where it is located, when it is required, and whichtables are relevant.

Cross-functional collaboration:

Collaborate with various XFN teams to launch new systems andproducts. Responsibilities include preparing documentation,coordinating with multiple stakeholders, developing a plan for systembuilding, identifying collaborators, and ensuring successful execution.
Skills:
  • Ability to work as part of a team, as well as work independently or with minimal direction.
  • Excellent written, presentation, and verbal communication skills.
  • Collaborate with data architects, modelers and IT team members on project goals.
  • Strong PC skills including knowledge of Microsoft SharePoint.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Manage data engineering projects through the full cycle.
  • Identify and underline business initiatives from a data engineering perspective
  • Design, construct, install, test and maintain highly scalable data management systems.
  • Ensure systems meet business requirements and industry practices.
  • Design, implement, automate and maintain large scale enterprise data ETL processes.
  • Build high-performance algorithms, prototypes, predictive models and proof of concepts.
Job Description:
The main function of the Data Engineer is to develop, evaluate, test and maintain architectures and data solutions within our organization. The typical Data Engineer executes plans, policies, and practices that control, protect, deliver, and enhance the value of the organization's data assets.
