Job Summary:
We are supporting an exciting opportunity for a Data Engineer to help design, build, and improve data products that support business partners and product teams. This role is well suited to a candidate who enjoys high-volume data processing, collaboration in an Agile/Scrum environment, and contributing to solutions that improve data quality, performance, and reliability.
Responsibilities:
Design and implement data products and features in collaboration with product owners, data analysts, and business partners. Build and support distributed data processing pipelines and related utilities, libraries, and frameworks. Troubleshoot data issues, perform root cause analysis, and help resolve operational and performance issues across teams. Contribute to architecture, testing, continuous integration/deployment practices, and ongoing improvements to data engineering standards.
Required:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline. 10+ years of experience in large-scale software development and 5+ years of big data experience. Programming experience with Python or Scala preferred, plus experience with Hadoop and processing frameworks such as Spark and Hive. Experience with data warehousing concepts, SQL and SQL analytical functions, workflow orchestration tools such as Apache Airflow, and source code control tools such as GitHub or Bitbucket. Ability to communicate effectively, work in an Agile/Scrum application development environment, and quickly learn new languages, technologies, and frameworks. Experience with messaging/streaming/complex event processing tooling and frameworks.
