Lead Data Engineer Location:
100% Remote (U.S.) A growing healthcare technology company is looking for a Lead Data Engineer to take on a hands-on technical leadership role within its data engineering organization. The company builds SaaS analytics and workflow solutions that help public-sector healthcare organizations make better use of complex data to improve operations, oversight, and outcomes. This is an opportunity for an experienced data engineer who enjoys tackling complex, ambiguous problems while still staying close to the code. You'll help shape data architecture and engineering practices, mentor other engineers, and build scalable capabilities that make customer data integrations increasingly automated, reliable, and repeatable. What You'll Do
- Lead complex data engineering initiatives from technical design through implementation, testing, and delivery.
- Design and build scalable ELT pipelines, data models, transformations, and reusable data-processing capabilities.
- Lead the onboarding and integration of complex, imperfect customer data from diverse sources.
- Build automated data profiling, validation, and quality-monitoring capabilities.
- Help modernize data architecture, tooling, workflows, and engineering practices to improve scalability, observability, performance, and maintainability.
- Evaluate new architectures and technologies, including opportunities to leverage AI-assisted tools and automation within data engineering workflows.
- Provide technical mentorship and help establish engineering standards, best practices, and architectural direction.
- Identify recurring customer data challenges and turn them into reusable backend services, frameworks, and product capabilities.
- Partner with technical and business stakeholders to communicate architectural decisions, tradeoffs, risks, and recommendations.
- Help develop data capability roadmaps and recommend technical investments and priorities.
