Job Description

Overview LMI is seeking a Staff Data Engineer to build authoritative data products supporting Army acquisition and program operations. This engineer will own data pipelines, models, and ontology within Army Vantage or Palantir Foundry. This is a senior individual-contributor role for an engineer who can make architectural decisions, build production systems, and raise the technical standard of the team. Responsibilities Own the architecture and implementation of scalable data pipelines and data products. Integrate and transform data from multiple Army and enterprise sources. Develop data models and ontology that support applications, reporting, and analysis. Design for data quality, lineage, security, observability, and long-term maintainability. Establish engineering standards for testing, source control, deployment, and operations. Partner with software engineers, product designers, and customer stakeholders. Review technical designs, mentor engineers, and resolve complex data challenges. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, information systems, data science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. Eight or more years of experience building production data systems. Strong proficiency with Python, SQL, and modern data-engineering patterns. Experience designing data pipelines and products on Palantir Foundry, Army Vantage, or a comparable enterprise data platform. Experience with data modeling, ontology, data quality, and lineage. Strong software-engineering fundamentals, including testing, source control, CI/CD, and monitoring. Experience supporting a Department of Defense customer. Active Secret clearance. Preferred Qualifications Experience supporting the U.S. Army. Direct experience with Palantir Foundry or Army Vantage. Experience with PySpark or other distributed data-processing technologies. Familiarity with Army acquisition or program management data. Experience with cloud platforms, DevSecOps, and infrastructure as code. The target salary range for this position is $128,301 - $190,653.79. The salary range displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is not a guarantee of compensation. Individual salaries are determined by various factors including, but not limited to location, internal equity, business considerations, client contract requirements, and candidate qualifications, such as education, experience, skills, and security clearances. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements for a U.S. Government security clearance. Only US Citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
