Role:
Brooksource is seeking a Data Analytics Engineer to support a large-scale data modernization initiative for an organization. This role will focus on building and maintaining data models within a modern Snowflake-based data warehouse environment while helping migrate reporting assets from legacy platforms. You'll work alongside Data Engineers, BI Engineers, and project leadership to deliver high-quality data solutions that enable enterprise reporting and analytics. This is an excellent opportunity for someone early in their data career to gain hands-on experience with Snowflake, dbt, SQL, and modern data warehousing practices.
What You'll Do:
Build and maintain Snowflake data models using dbt, translating business requirements into scalable fact and dimension tables. Write and optimize SQL queries for data transformation, validation, and analytics needs. Support migration efforts from legacy reporting platforms to a modern cloud data warehouse environment. Apply dimensional modeling and star-schema best practices when designing warehouse structures. Partner with Data Engineering teams to resolve data pipeline dependencies and ensure data availability. Collaborate with BI Engineers to support downstream reporting and dashboard requirements. Participate in Agile ceremonies, sprint planning, and team collaboration activities.
What You Bring:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. Strong SQL fundamentals including joins, aggregations, and data transformation. Ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Exposure to Snowflake or other cloud data warehouse technologies. Familiarity with dbt and modern data modeling concepts. Exposure to Python, Airflow, or related data engineering tools is preferred. Understanding dimensional modeling and data warehousing best practices.
