This position plays an important role in helping our nursery operations make informed, data-driven decisions by collecting, analyzing, and reporting information related to production, inventory, plant availability, product mix, replenishment, and overall operational performance. The ideal candidate enjoys working with data but also understands that the numbers tell only part of the story. You'll work closely with nursery and business teams to identify trends, uncover opportunities, flag potential issues, and turn complex information into clear, useful insights. This is a great opportunity for someone who combines strong analytical skills with an interest in agriculture, nursery production, inventory management, or operational improvement. What You'll Do As our Nursery Data Analyst, you will: Collect, organize, maintain, and analyze data related to nursery production, inventory, sales, availability, and product performance. Develop and maintain recurring reports, dashboards, spreadsheets, summaries, and other analytical tools. Prepare weekly and periodic reporting on key nursery metrics, trends, variances, and areas requiring attention. Analyze historical and current data to identify patterns, trends, risks, and opportunities. Support forecasting and planning using production, inventory, historical, and operational data. Monitor inventory and plant availability to identify potential shortages, excess inventory, aging inventory, and other conditions requiring attention. Analyze product mix and availability to support nursery planning and resource allocation. Compare planned versus actual production, inventory, availability, and other operational measures. Help develop and maintain meaningful Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for nursery operations. Prepare ad hoc reports and analyses to answer operational and management questions. Partner with Nursery, Production, Replenishment, Inventory, Supply Chain, Sales, and Finance teams to ensure information is accurate, consistent, and useful. Research data discrepancies and collaborate with appropriate teams to resolve issues. Help improve and standardize how nursery data is collected, organized, reported, and analyzed. Support Continuous Improvement and Lean initiatives by identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, accuracy, reporting, and information flow. Clearly communicate analytical findings, trends, and recommendations to managers and other stakeholders. What We're Looking For Successful candidates will bring: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to data accuracy. Strong organizational and time-management skills. The ability to analyze information, recognize trends, and communicate meaningful conclusions. Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including the ability to organize, manipulate, analyze, and present data. Experience developing or maintaining reports, spreadsheets, dashboards, or analytical tools. Strong written and verbal communication skills. The ability to translate business and operational questions into useful data analysis. The ability to explain analytical information clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences. The ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. The ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across departments. Strong technical aptitude and the ability to learn company-specific systems and databases. An interest in learning and understanding nursery products, production processes, inventory practices, and operational terminology. Work Environment This position primarily involves office and computer-based analytical work but also requires periodic time within nursery production and operational areas. The Nursery Data Analyst should be comfortable getting out from behind the desk when necessary to better understand operations, validate information, and connect data with what is happening in the nursery. Because this position works within an agricultural environment, occasional exposure to varying weather conditions, insects, airborne particles, and agricultural chemicals may occur.
