Consultant, Data Analytics & Digital Modernization Summary:
Humango is seeking a sharp, analytical consultant to support Digital Seabag implementation, digital modernization, workforce analytics, and technology optimization initiatives for the U.S. Coast Guard. Digital Seabag is a Coast Guard initiative that provides members with persona-matched devices, applications, data access, and connectivity so they can execute mission work more efficiently in the field, at the unit, and underway. This role combines Power BI dashboard development, data analysis, survey design, business process improvement, and technology evaluation. The ideal candidate is a high-performing analyst or early-career consultant who can structure messy problems, work with quantitative and qualitative data, and turn findings into practical recommendations for client leaders.
Clearance Required:
Active or prior security clearance preferred.
Location:
Hybrid work. On site locations include Alexandria and/or DHS HQ. May require quarterly out-of-town travel.
Required Qualifications:
2 to 5 years of professional experience in analytics, consulting, technology, operations, or business process improvement. Strong Excel and data analysis skills, including comfort with structured datasets, pivot tables, formulas, and data quality checks. Hands-on Power BI experience is required, including building dashboards, working with data models, and creating leadership-ready reporting products; familiarity with Power Query, SQL, Python, or comparable analytics tools is a plus. Ability to synthesize quantitative and qualitative findings into clear, actionable recommendations. Strong critical thinking, problem structuring, and written communication skills. Comfort working in ambiguous client environments where requirements evolve over time. Interest in federal missions, digital modernization, workforce enablement, and technology adoption.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience supporting federal, defense, homeland security, public sector, or mission-oriented clients. Familiarity with Microsoft 365, Power Platform, Power BI, SharePoint, or Teams-based collaboration environments. Knowledge of data governance, survey methods, user research, or performance measurement frameworks. Experience developing dashboards or executive reporting products from imperfect source data. Active or prior security clearance preferred.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Collect, clean, analyze, and interpret operational, workforce, survey, device usage, and Digital Seabag adoption data. Develop Power BI dashboards, scorecards, and reporting products that provide leadership visibility into Digital Seabag deployment, adoption, usage, performance, and risk. Support survey design, data collection, analysis, and synthesis of user feedback. Identify Digital Seabag adoption trends, usage patterns, process bottlenecks, persona-specific needs, and performance indicators. Support business case development, rough-order-of-magnitude analysis, ROI assessments, and prioritization models. Conduct technology, process, and benchmark research to support modernization recommendations. Assist with workflow automation, requirements gathering, and digital solution evaluation. Prepare charts, findings, recommendations, and client-ready briefing materials. Work closely with transformation, communications, technical, and client stakeholders to connect analytics to action.
Decision-Making Authority:
The Consultant, Data Analytics and Data Modernization has day-to-day decision-making authority for all deliverables, engagements, communications, and other support efforts that they produce for the customer in support of the program and its various projects/initiatives.
