This position performs advanced data analysis and reporting in support of St. Petersburg College's Collegiate High School programs. The Data Analyst is responsible for designing, building, and evaluating comprehensive student progress monitoring systems, including early alert frameworks (e.g., Dropout Detective-style systems), pathway progression tracking, and success rate analyses across all student demographics. The role focuses on transforming student-level, course-level, and program-level data into actionable insights that improve student persistence, academic achievement, and equitable outcomes. The analyst collaborates with school leaders, advisors, and college administrators to develop data-informed strategies that support college readiness, degree attainment, and continuous program improvement. Primary focus on Collegiate High School students that participate in college courses through St. Petersburg College Heavy emphasis on predictive analytics, student success monitoring, and equity analysis Collaboration across K-12 and college systems , including district and state reporting structures
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Progress Monitoring & Early Alert Systems Design, implement, and maintain comprehensive student progress monitoring systems aligned to success benchmarks. Build and refine early alert indicators (attendance, GPA, course performance, withdrawal risk) to proactively identify students in need of intervention. Evaluate the effectiveness of monitoring tools (e.g., Dropout Detective-style systems) and recommend improvements based on outcome data. Partner with school leaders and advisors to translate alerts into actionable intervention strategies. Pathway & Program Analytics Track and analyze student progression through St. Petersburg College pathways, including course sequencing, credit accumulation, and completion of A.A./career pathways. Identify bottlenecks, attrition points, and momentum loss within pathways and recommend structural improvements. Develop dashboards and scorecards that monitor program health across schools and cohorts. Equity & Student Success Analysis Analyze student success metrics (GPA, course completion, persistence, graduation, college continuation) across demographic groups including race/ethnicity, gender, socioeconomic status, and first-generation status. Identify opportunity gaps and develop reporting frameworks that support equitable outcomes. Provide disaggregated data to support targeted outreach and support for underrepresented student populations. Data Reporting & Visualization Design and produce interactive dashboards, visualizations, and reports for school leaders, college administration, and external stakeholders. Present data findings in accessible formats tailored to different audiences (principals, counselors, district partners, state agencies). Generate regular reports including enrollment trends, success rates, intervention outcomes, and program effectiveness. Strategic & Operational Support Support strategic planning efforts related to Dual Enrollment expansion, program access, and student success initiatives. Conduct cohort analyses and longitudinal studies to evaluate program impact. Collaborate with institutional research, IT, and academic departments to integrate and validate multiple data sources. Provide data to inform accreditation, state reporting, and institutional accountability measures. Technical Data Work Extract, clean, and analyze data using SQL, statistical tools, and data visualization platforms. Develop and maintain data models to support predictive analytics and forecasting. Ensure accuracy, integrity, and confidentiality of student data in compliance with FERPA and institutional policies.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree in analytical research; three (3) years of related work experience in data analysis and reporting including experience in the creation and presentation of data in meaningful formats; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.
