Job Description

Company Overview Embedded Alliance is an enterprise solutions company dedicated to advancing geospatial, data storage, analytics, development, and dissemination capabilities. We are passionate about fostering a collaborative environment that promotes personal growth and work/life balance for our team members. SAR Imagery Analyst -
Machine Learning Test & Evaluation Clearance Level Required:
TS/SCI required The Work New SAR sensors are coming online faster than anyone can validate them. Before imagery from an emergent platform can feed an operational machine learning pipeline, somebody has to answer the hard questions: does the phenomenology hold up? What breaks in the metadata? Is the resulting dataset actually representative, or just convenient? That's this role. You'll be the SAR subject matter expert on a small team deciding whether new sensors can be trusted. Working with a team to build curated, labeled datasets that ML models are evaluated against. If you've spent years developing intuition for SAR and have watched the ML wave arrive wondering where you fit, this is the seat. What you'll actually do Assess emergent sensors. Working alongside the SAR lead, characterize how new platforms differ from what's currently in use, collecting geometry, resolution, polarization, revisit, and the downstream effects on exploitation. Solve the data integration problem. Identify where new sensor data diverges from existing standards in metadata, format, and structure, and what that means for schemas, APIs, and ETL into the current pipeline. Standardize and prepare. Convert between formats, tile full-scene imagery to specified dimensions or geospatial bounds, and get data into a state where it can be labeled and used for model testing. Curate with purpose. Using multi-INT sources with SAR as the anchor, select imagery containing the objects and scene characteristics that matter for evaluation. Recommend curation strategies, and call out the gaps. A dataset that's missing a geometry, a terrain type, or a target condition will produce a model that fails in exactly that case, and you're the one positioned to see it coming. What we're looking for 4+ years working SAR at depth collection, phenomenology, image formation, and exploitation products Fluency with SAR image quality metrics and sensor metadata, including how collection geometry drives phenomenology Demonstrated experience exploiting SAR to detect and geolocate objects of interest Ability to explain SAR capabilities, limitations, and methods to both technical and non-technical audiences Grounding in remote sensing principles and advanced exploitation methods Bachelor's degree in a relevant field; additional experience considered in lieu Active TS/SCI and the ability to obtain a polygraph What would set you apart Experience applying computer vision or machine learning techniques to SAR imagery against intelligence problems Familiarity with commercial SAR constellations and their data products Hands-on work with complex imagery formats (SICD, NITF) or SAR-specific processing tooling Exposure to labeled dataset construction, model evaluation, or T&E methodology Timeline We're moving fast on this one selection within roughly two weeks. If your clearance is current and your SAR background is deep, apply now and we'll talk this week.
