Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Billing Data Specialist to join our dynamic finance team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and analyzing billing data across multiple accounting systems, ensuring accuracy and compliance with financial standards. Your expertise will help streamline billing processes, support client accounts, and contribute to the overall financial health of the organization. This position offers an exciting opportunity to apply your accounting knowledge in a fast-paced environment, making a tangible impact on our operational efficiency. Duties Enter, review, and reconcile billing data using various accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, PeopleSoft, and specialized billing systems. Perform account analysis and account reconciliation to ensure data accuracy and integrity across accounts receivable and payable. Manage collections accounts by monitoring overdue payments, communicating with clients, and executing follow-up actions to optimize cash flow. Prepare journal entries in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) compliance standards. Utilize Excel data analysis techniques, including formulas and pivot tables, to generate reports that support financial decision-making. Conduct detailed account analysis, including double entry bookkeeping and debits & credits management, to maintain accurate financial records. Support month-end closing processes by performing account reconciliations, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with internal controls. Skills Strong understanding of accounting concepts such as
GAAP, SOX
compliance, journal entries, and technical accounting procedures. Proficiency in financial software including QuickBooks, Sage, PeopleSoft, and other accounting systems; experience with billing software is highly desirable. Advanced Excel skills including formulas, spreadsheets management, Excel data analysis, and creating complex reports. Experience in accounts receivable management, collections account oversight, and customer service communication skills for client interactions. Knowledge of governmental or non-profit accounting practices is a plus; familiarity with public accounting standards is beneficial. Excellent attention to detail with strong analysis skills for account reconciliation and account analysis tasks. Effective phone etiquette and client communication abilities to handle inquiries related to billing or account status. Ability to perform high-volume data entry accurately using 10 key typing skills; familiarity with accounts payable processes is advantageous.
