Tesla leverages breakthrough firmware, electronics, testing, and manufacturing to develop and deploy grid-connected energy storage at residential, industrial, and utility scale—including data center power and infrastructure products. The Compliance Engineering team is seeking an experienced engineer passionate about product safety and reliability. You will drive testing and global certifications for renewable energy, EV charging, and data center. These products must meet national and international standards including ANSI, UL, IEEE, IEC, EN, KN, JIS, GB, and CSA. You will partner with nationally recognized testing laboratories (NRTLs) and product design teams to secure global market access. Scope includes regulatory product architecture/design, validation plans, compliance roadmaps, in-house testing, debug/RCA, data analysis, and regulatory documentation. You may also participate in trade groups and technical standards committees to help shape legislation and industry standards. What You'll Do Drive regulatory product architecture and design for data center, charging products and energy products Research and interpret new market entry requirements across global regions Review products, specifications, and test plans for compliance readiness. Develop test criteria, methodologies, and pass/fail criteria Support product registrations and permitting applications Debug and perform root cause analysis (RCA) on product non-conformities Partner with NRTLs or Notified Body to achieve product compliance certificates Convert problem statements into clear specification requirements Lead compliance validation and data analysis, including high-power grid-connected systems Perform product safety testing, troubleshooting, and bug fixing Represent Tesla in trade groups and technical standards committees as needed What You'll Bring Bachelor's degree in electrical or electronic engineering or equivalent experience 2+ years in a product regulatory and compliance role Experience with power electronics products and applicable safety standards Working knowledge of CE requirements, North American listings, and
