You are an early-career data developer with 1-3 years of experience who enjoys working with data, writing SQL, and solving technical problems. You have a solid foundation in relational databases and ETL concepts and are eager to grow your skills in cloud-based data engineering. You are detail-oriented, collaborative, and comfortable learning from senior engineers while contributing reliable code and high-quality data solutions. At the Analyst-Level, you will support business solutions through research, data collection, and analysis, contribute to client deliverables and proposals, take ownership of tasks, and embody the firm's brand and core values.Role and Responsibilities:
You may work on various projects throughout your career with Excelacom. The roles and responsibilities noted below pertain to the specific role listed above. Write, test, and maintain SQL queries used for data extraction, transformation, validation, and reporting. Develop and support ETL pipelines and data ingestion processes under the guidance of senior team members. Use joins, aggregations, subqueries, common table expressions, and window functions to analyze and transform data. Troubleshoot SQL queries, data quality issues, and production job failures, escalating complex issues when appropriate. Assist with query tuning and performance optimization for large datasets and recurring production workloads. Perform data validation, reconciliation, and quality checks to ensure datasets are accurate, complete, and reliable. Partner with data developers, analysts, and data scientists to build datasets that support reporting and analytics. Document SQL logic, data mappings, ETL workflows, operational procedures, and technical solutions. Participate in code reviews, testing, deployments, and team knowledge-sharing activities. Learn and apply data engineering standards, source-control practices, and production support procedures. Collaborate with technical and cross-functional stakeholders to translate business and analytical needs into data solutions. In addition to delivering at the client site, you will occasionally be tasked in productizing Excelacom's work, contributing to our Center of Excellence and intermittently working on Excelacom proposals to the client.Required Qualifications:
1-3 years of professional experience in data development, data engineering, database development, analytics, or a related technical role. Strong hands-on SQL experience, including joins, aggregations, subqueries, common table expressions, and window functions. Experience using SQL to extract, transform, validate, and troubleshoot data in relational or distributed data environments. Working knowledge of ETL concepts, data pipelines, data integration, and data warehousing principles. Experience identifying data quality issues and performing data validation and reconciliation. Basic Python scripting experience for data processing, workflow automation, or troubleshooting. Familiarity with version control, testing practices, and writing maintainable production code. Understanding of data modeling concepts, including tables, keys, relationships, and dimensional data structures. Ability to learn new technologies, follow technical standards, and work effectively with guidance from senior team members. Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Computer Science or related field Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio) Strong math, written and verbal communication skills with an analytical approach Applicant must be authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for employment-based visa sponsorship now or in the future; Excelacom will not sponsor applicants for U.S. work visa status for this opportunity (no sponsorship is available for H-1B, L-1, TN, O-1, E-3, H-1B1, F-1, J-1, OPT, CPT or any other employment-based visa)Preferred Qualifications:
Prior experience in Telecommunications, Media, or Cable is highly preferred Experience in a professional office environment or relevant internship experience Experience with Spark SQL, Hadoop, Apache Iceberg, or other large-scale data processing technologies. Exposure to AWS data services such as EMR, Glue, Lambda, Step Functions, or managed Airflow. Experience using Git and working in Linux-based development or production environments. Experience with PySpark, Scala, shell scripting, or workflow orchestration tools. Experience supporting data products used for reporting, statistical analysis, data science, or advanced analytics.Compensation and Benefits:
