Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities:
Maintenance & Operations Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, structural, furniture, fire/life safety, and control systems to ensure all systems operate within required standards. Support and oversee facility services including preventive maintenance programs, purchasing, inventory control, and contracted services. Clean, inspect, calibrate, and replace components on HVAC and related systems to maintain optimal performance and reliability. Operate within a mission-critical environment, responding to system alarms, abnormal conditions, and operational events. Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned. Safety & Compliance Record equipment readings, analyze trends, and make operational adjustments to maintain system stability. Follow all policies related to the safe storage, handling, and disposal of hazardous materials; maintain excellent housekeeping standards at all times. Conduct routine inspections of tools, equipment, and test instrumentation. Monitor the quality, safety, and cost-effectiveness of work performed by external contractors and vendors. Adhere to all company safety procedures and proactively identify, report, and mitigate hazards. Ensure strict compliance with State, County, and City codes and regulations. Complete all required safety training and actively participate in the Good Catch / Near Miss safety program. Administrative & Communication Prepare and submit monthly operational reports to the Chief Engineer. Develop and maintain Methods of Procedure (MOPs) for critical infrastructure and maintenance activities. Escalate operational issues and risks promptly to the Chief Engineer. Participate in annual performance reviews and ongoing professional development. Attend required team meetings, safety briefings, and training sessions. Perform additional administrative responsibilities as assigned. Physical Requirements & Working Conditions Ability to lift and carry up to 80 pounds. Ability to work at heights and safely climb ladders up to 30 feet, including ladders rated for 300 lbs, while carrying a 20 lb tool bag. Ability to frequently climb, bend, kneel, stoop, lift, and work overhead. Ability to work in extreme temperatures (hot and cold). Availability for on-call work, emergency response, overtime, and other duties as required in a 24/7 operation.Qualifications:
Required High School Diploma or GED, plus two years of trade school in electrical systems, refrigeration, or HVAC. Prior experience working in a data center or raised-floor environment. Proficiency with basic computer applications, including Microsoft Word and Excel. Required licenses or certifications in accordance with local jurisdictional requirements. Preferred Advanced expertise in one primary trade: Electrical HVAC Plumbing/Piping Central Utility Plant Operations Water- and Air-Cooled Chiller Systems Working knowledge of Building Automation Systems (BAS), power monitoring systems, and fire/life safety systems. Work Schedule Friday through Tuesday 11:30 PM - 7:30 AM (3rd Shift) Overtime and additional shifts as required This is a 24/7/365 critical data center facility supporting three shifts of operations.Compensation Base salary:
$60,000 - $78,000 USD annually Shift differential: Additional 10% Total compensation may vary based on education, experience, technical skill set, geographic location, internal equity, and market conditions.Client:
