Position Summary The Database Administrator is responsible for ensuring the performance, security, and reliability of production database environments across both on-premises and cloud platforms. This role plays a key part in safeguarding data integrity, supporting scalability, and enabling the business through stable, optimized database systems. On a daily basis, this position leads database administration efforts, proactively monitors performance, resolves issues, and collaborates with engineering and DevOps teams. The Database Administrator drives modernization initiatives, supports cloud adoption, and ensures that backup, recovery, and compliance standards are consistently met. Key Responsibilities
  • Install, configure, administer, and maintain enterprise databases to ensure availability, performance, and reliability
  • Lead administration and optimization of SQL Server, Azure SQL, MySQL, and Databricks environments
  • Diagnose and resolve performance issues across OLTP and data warehouse platforms
  • Design, implement, and support high availability and disaster recovery solutions including AlwaysOn, clustering, replication, and failover groups
  • Implement monitoring, automation, proactive health checks, and performance tuning processes
  • Drive database migrations, upgrades, and modernization initiatives across on-premises and cloud platforms
  • Partner with engineering, DevOps, analytics teams, and vendors on platform integrations and improvements
  • Ensure database security, compliance, backup, and recovery strategies align with enterprise standards Key Requirements
  • Eight or more years of enterprise Database Administrator experience, with a strong focus on SQL Server
  • Four or more years of hands-on experience supporting Microsoft Azure database platforms
  • Deep expertise in SQL Server and Azure SQL administration and architecture
  • Advanced skills in query tuning, performance optimization, and troubleshooting
  • Strong experience with high availability, disaster recovery, and database security best practices
  • Expert-level database design skills including schema architecture, data modeling, and indexing strategies
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with engineers, DevOps, analytics teams, and technical leadership
  • Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills in fast-paced environments Preferred Qualifications
  • Exposure to Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, or enterprise analytics platforms
  • Experience working with Databricks in production environments
  • Familiarity with DevOps pipelines and CI CD processes related to database deployments
  • Strong scripting and automation capabilities to improve operational efficiency
