Primary Services is excited to announce the Data Center Technician role at a leading technology infrastructure organization. This opportunity is ideal for experienced professionals who thrive in critical facility environments and enjoy a blend of technical operations, customer interaction, and infrastructure support. The Data Center Technician will play a key role in maintaining operational readiness, coordinating vendors, supporting customers, and ensuring the reliability and security of multiple data center locations. Responsibilities Perform daily walkthroughs to verify HVAC systems, power systems, alarms, environmental conditions, and physical security. Monitor airflow, hot- and cold-aisle alignment, humidity levels, temperature conditions, and UPS performance. Coordinate vendor repairs, obtain quotes, and manage approval workflows for facility-related issues. Serve as the primary emergency contact for power, HVAC, and environmental incidents. Prepare and install customer cabinets, including labeling, cleaning, power validation, and network readiness checks. Install and manage fiber and copper cross-connects to support customer connectivity needs. Conduct tours of data center facilities for prospective customers and stakeholders. Administer facility access, badge management, contractor audits, and security logging. Maintain lighting, surveillance systems, locks, and overall physical security standards. Audit cabinets, power utilization, infrastructure layouts, and cross-connect documentation. Maintain inventory records, diagrams, and site documentation to support operational accuracy. Evaluate remote locations and recommend preventative maintenance strategies for infrastructure assets. Support ongoing operational improvements across partner data center environments. Qualifications Experience in data center operations, critical infrastructure environments, or facility support roles. Knowledge of HVAC systems, airflow management, UPS systems, and power distribution fundamentals. Experience with fiber and copper cross-connect installations preferred. Familiarity with environmental monitoring systems or DC power plants preferred. Ability to safely use ladders, hand tools, and cabling equipment. Valid Texas driver's license with a clear motor vehicle record required. Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds as needed. Experience in maintaining technical documentation, inventories, and infrastructure diagrams. Proficiency in coordinating vendors, contractors, and maintenance activities. Ability to respond to after-hours emergencies and urgent operational issues.
